Long day, long week, not over yet... Apparently this qualifies as a book by or about someone who identifies as neurodiverse for #readharder2019 so here we are!

khooliha Earlier I re-lived you saying "oh no, my cactus" so this is wholly appropriate 4d
holarosarita @khooliha It actually is a great big saguaro this time! 4d
khooliha @holarosarita I hope very much that it isn't killed by pointless ghosts! 4d

“Mostly though I remember words. Very early I figured out there were millions of words in the world .....everybody uses words to express themselves. Except me. And I bet most people don‘t realize the real power of words. But I do. Thoughts need words. Words need a voice. But I‘ve never been able to tell them. —Melody

Perfect read for current state of mind 🤪. I think I may have gotten this for my teen many moons ago and it sat in the bookshelf. It‘s mine now. ♥️

Fourth and final summer reading book for my new fifth grade class. I actually read it before, but decided I needed a refresher. I love this story about a girl with cerebral palsy who is genius level smart. She suffers because she can‘t easily communicate with others. Through bravery and determination, she opens lines of communication and sparks up during her inclusion classes. This book also makes me very angry!!!!!!

This book was great! The main character is a thirteen year old girl who was born without arms. She moves to a new town and has to get used to other kids staring at her. She makes friends with a boy with Tourette's syndrome. They were able to create their own community and start to figure themselves out. I would definitely recommend this to teens, and really, anyone.

JamieArc I loved this too, and it will probably be one of my top books read this year! 3w
