pickIt‘s the last book of #TheUnicornClub! Kimberly feels like the odd one out again as the only 8th grader & makes a play to stir things up to claim the club presidency. When a prank from the unlikely crush between Lila Fowler & Jerry McAllister ends up trapping the girls inside the mall, it‘s like a dream come true… until it becomes more like a nightmare! This spinoff has been fun & hopefully I can track down the missing book IN LOVE WITH MANDY!
pickJohnny Buck‘s back in #SweetValley for a benefit concert for the Sweet Valley Children‘s Hospital (no mention of his surprise concert from the 15th book!). Jessica wins a contest for the day of the concert to be spent at his side, showing him around. As usual, she exaggerates a bit but with Mandy there to document the date, it winds up being leverage as Johnny‘s image also exaggerates his talents (he can‘t ride horses, swim or drive a moped)!
pickMrs. W. rear-ends an old lady, Mrs. Harrington, then Jess & Liz befriend her & help out around her house. Jess is particularly taken with her, especially once she discovers Mrs. H. is really a famous retired movie star, Dolores Dufay. She pays for Jess to take acting classes & helps her with a school play. I actually really enjoyed this because I love it when Jess acts like a decent person & does the right thing. So refreshing! 😆4⭐️

pickShy, awkward Sandra Ferris comes to Casa Wakefield to hang out with Saint Liz. Jess is mostly annoyed by her presence but decides to give her a makeover, & soon comes to regret it. Sandra goes from wallflower to super popular overnight & even decides to run against Jess for 6th grade citizen of the year. Has Jess created a monster? So fun as always. 4⭐️

pickBeen sick & got way behind on my reviews and buddy reads the last few weeks. 🤧 I read this Sweet Valley gem in honor of Valentine‘s Day & it was a riot! Rich Lila Fowler invents a fake perfect boyfriend from a different school after the guy she is crushing on invites someone else to the Valentine‘s Day dance. And everybody else‘s wires get crossed & Jess thinks Liz is trying to steal her boyfriend. So fun. 💕

pickI‘m not sure how this #TeamSweetValleySeries was originally advertised because there wasn‘t even a blurb about it within the #SweetValleyTwins books published around it in 1996, but it‘s set during 6th grade biennial California Games. Jessica leads the girl‘s gymnastics team but makes an enemy of Dawn Maven, a girl from a less wealthy town who has made gymnastics her whole life. The rivalry gets out of hand & forges an unexpected friendship!
pickIt‘s nearly the end of the school year & Janet Howell‘s making everyone miserable as she prepares for a year-end speech & a fabulous party. She‘s not sparing a single expense… but also not a single feeling! After blowing up at Lois Waller (Lois once again spills her spaghetti in the lunchroom), Elizabeth encourages her to throw a rival party the same night as Janet‘s! With more reminders of books in the past, this one is almost bittersweet!
pickThe end of school picnic‘s approaches & everyone‘s pairing off— except Janet‘s furious with Denny for lying & taking it out on the rest of the Unicorns. Jessica‘s own loose relationship with the truth comes into focus as she tries to come out on top & wishes for Elizabeth to learn a lesson through all-truths & then all-lies! It‘s silly & fun as Jessica gets wound deeper into trouble but a heroic dog-rescue straightens everything out in the end!

Some time ago, I was excited about the Outlander series showing reruns on TV. When I started watching it...it took way too long to figure out that I was actually watching Highlander 😂 which I used to watch as a kid, so don't ask me why i was so easily fooled 😂🎬💝... (edited) 3w
