No offense meant for Grandma Gatewood - her story is an inspirational story, and I‘m sure it would be a hoot to have heard her talk about her adventure. The low rating is really due to the construction of the book. I wish the writing was as glowing and glowing throughout the entire book rather than at the end. Too choppy in a way, and I think it‘s because every detail from her journal is used. I can see why people gush over this, but not for me.⬇️

Oh how I wish I could be as brave as Lindy! I am happy that she is one of the women changing the framing of rape in comedy. I am overjoyed that she is proud to be fat because I am one of the women she makes feel more beautiful. I can‘t wait for her next book this spring! 5⭐️

Megabooks @britt_brooke I used this one. There were so many examples of how black people (students and professors) were treated differently - on college campuses in particular. Especially black men. Plus his upbringing was entirely different from mine. I feel like I was too dumb and immature to think about how people were treated when I was actually in college. I‘m glad I‘ve gone back and thought about it. Hope this helps!
