Do not miss this book! Dave did a great job covering these amazing teens first year of activism, and how they are working to change the country into one without lockdown drills. These are kids that were never alive before Columbine. That just boggles my mind. These kids are amazing!! 5+⭐️

Riveted_Reader_Melissa I felt the same way reading Glimmer of Hope, I‘ll have to check this one out too. 9mo
Megabooks Oh awesome! Thanks for the recommendation! 9mo
JenReadsAlot I used my audible credit for this. 9mo

Megabooks @JenReadsAlot I did too. It works well as an audiobook, IMO! 9mo
Amiable Good suggestion for the “movement” category—thanks! 9mo
Megabooks @Amiable You‘re welcome! I hope you like it! 9mo
Reviewsbylola Stacking! 9mo
Reviewsbylola Oh wow, and I just saw Cullen is the author. He did an amazing job with Columbine. 9mo
Megabooks @Reviewsbylola Yes he did! He approaches the book with the same keen eye, but it is more about the March for Our Lives movement than the shooting/shooter. 9mo

Guinn takes a difficult, depressing subject and picks all its pieces apart so it‘s easier to understand. Or at least as much as possible, given the subject. Jim Jones was a megalomaniac who closely controlled the lives of about 1000 people. It‘s a tragedy of one man‘s making, despite his early intentions to bring God and equality to marginalized communities.

BarbaraTheBibliophage Here‘s the podcast: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/transmissions-from-jonestown/id1308803723?mt... I‘m still trying to get up my courage to listen to Jones‘ “Death Tape,” recorded before and during the suicide. 11mo

Cinfhen Well done, Barb 🙌🏻 11mo
BarbaraTheBibliophage @Cinfhen Thanks! It wasn‘t an easy book, that‘s for sure. 11mo
TheReadingMermaid Oooo 😗 this is on my TBR list!!! 😍 11mo
4thhouseontheleft I‘m curious how this works for #readingwomen when the author is male? 11mo
BarbaraTheBibliophage @4thhouseontheleft Well, shoot ... I looked at one of their graphics, which doesn‘t mention this fundamental cross-prompt rule. I didn‘t look further, which is where the “by or about women” rule is shown. 😳 (I do have to say that SO many of Jones‘ followers were women, and quite a lot of time is spent on his wife. So maybe I could stretch this. But, most likely, I will pick another book. Thanks, A! 11mo
4thhouseontheleft Maybe I misunderstood! I thought they had to be by women, not just about. But I was basing that off something someone said in the RWC GR group. 11mo
BarbaraTheBibliophage @4thhouseontheleft Here‘s the page with all the prompts. About halfway down is he sentence that says by or about. https://www.readingwomenpodcast.com/reading-women-challenge-2019/ 11mo
