You can‘t get much more #Freezing than Antarctica. Ice Station is the first book in the brilliant Scarecrow Series, and introduces a brilliant character in Shane Schofield. If you like high octane and fast action books I definitely recommend this series.

I pulled this out and Lane informed Nina and I that he had "already read that in Kindergarten..." then proceeded to spoil the whole plot ??? We enjoyed it anyways! #raisingreaders #scarathlon #teammonstermash @StayCurious

The only surprise to me is how much I didn‘t like this sci-fi mystery/thriller. Read my full review here: https://debbybrauer.org/#scarecrow-has-a-gun

Publication is expected August 2.

Does your library have Kanopy? This is a Great program for kids! It is also great for people who rent movies from the library.
Letting Kanopy read some Halloween books to .e to get those #scarathlon points for #TeamHendrix!

Mehso-so

This was sort of like a Halloween just-so-story. I had an audio copy of it, but would definitely have preferred a print one with the illustrations.

Linsy We found an animation of the book on overdrive and I was worried the kids would be bored, but my four-year-old absolutely loves it! 3y

I am posting one book per day from my extensive to-be-read collection. No description or reason for wanting to read the book. Some are old and some will be new. Don't judge me - I have a lot of books.

Lucy_Anywhere I enjoyed this one - just suspend disbelief and enjoy the wild ride 😂 3y
RamsFan1963 @Lucy_Anywhere Yeah I've read Ice Station and Area 7 with the Scarecrow character in it, they are wild rollercoaster rides. Reilly has a habit of ending a chapter with a crazy cliffhanger situation, so you have to keep reading to see what happens next. 3y
BookDragonNotWorm I loved this series! So crazy! 3y

1. My mom always made me costumes that could also tie in with our school's storybook parade (which I---or rather she---always won). This year was The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

2. I don't remember many Halloween books from childhood. Maybe the tagged one or Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark.

Did you do Halloween as a child, @LoriTP ?

TheSpineView Love that costume! 🧡🎃🖤📚 3y
ImperfectCJ @TheSpineView Mom had a thing for making costumes that made it difficult to get through doors or ride in cars. I suspect that in a previous life she designed clothing with bustles, hoop skirts, and puffed sleeves. 3y
TheSpineView @ImperfectCJ I can see that! 3y
