I had to sleep overnight on making a decision, but I've chosen Brom's Slewfoot to move on over But Not Too Bold in my #readingbracket2025. It was a very difficult decision! But Not Too Bold holds a special place in my heart! #bookbracket2025#readingbracket #bookbracket

Hungerstone | Kat Dunn

My favorite read of July was Hungerstone by Kat Dunn—a feminist reimagining of Carmilla, the novella that inspired Dracula. I thoroughly enjoyed it, but it couldn‘t top my May favorite, Not Too Bold by Hache Pueyo. That means Not Too Bold advances in my 2025 book bracket competition!

#readingbracket2025 #July @Catsandbooks

I would not be 100% surprised if the two semi-finalists were The Devil and the Dark Water and Woodworking.

Catsandbooks Awesome! 👏🏼 🎉 1d
Bette Still love Devil and the Dark Water and it‘s been a few years… 👍 1d

This month was really hard to pick. I also loved A Family Matter by Claire Lynch and Maggie; or, A Man and a Woman Walk Into a Bar by Katie Yee.

#readingbracket2025 Going with the new VE Schwab book this month as my fav! So many good new releases this summer. Also, I cannot believe it is already August.

CSeydel Seems like it‘s flying by, doesn‘t it? Nice bracket! 3d

#ReadingBracket2025 Nonfiction update - first half of the year!
June's pick was Dear America, which was so moving and timely. Moving forward to the next round is Born a Crime, which was just the perfect mix of informative, funny, and passionate.

#ReadingBracket2025 Romance update - first half of the year!
I had some great reads this last quarter, including the really fun and unique time loop romance Time and Time Again. But A Shore Thing is moving onto the next round. I can't get over its charm.

#ReadingBracket2025 Fiction update - first half of the year!
June's pick was The City We Became, which I really loved, but ultimately The Measure just hit me the right way and it has stuck with me. So it is moving on to the next round
