My target was 115, I didn‘t quite get there. I think it‘s because we weren‘t travelling as much.
I will aim for 115 in 2021.

Teresereading #readingwomen2020, I made it to 17; one less than 2019. I may need to have a plan in 2021. 3y

What a painful, illuminating, honest and heartbreaking book! Told from the perspective of a young girl, this examination of Cambodia during Pol Pot‘s murderous reign doesn‘t look away from the atrocities conducted by the Khmer Rouge. The perseverance of the author and her family are inspiring and remind the reader of the strength of the human spirit. Difficult to read but so worth it! #ReadingWomen2020 #Booked2020 #AboutGenocide #challenge

I am no stranger to local food as my husband is an urban farmer, but there was a lot of interesting information in this book and of course Kingsolver's writing made for a great story too.

I don‘t know who I thought I was kidding when I said I would only do 3 challenges in 2020. 🙄😂

The illustrious @BarbaraTheBibliophage came up with this fun bingo card for memoirs and mysteries that doesn‘t look overly complicated, and I think I can find books on my tbr to fit them all. I‘m in!

vivastory I'm joining too 👍 4y
vivastory What are your planned challenges for 2020? 4y
sprainedbrain @vivastory I am doing #ReadingWomen2020, #Booked2020, #ReadingEurope2020, and now this one. 😬 (edited) 4y

vivastory Yikes! I'm doing this one & #Booked2020 & co-hosting #nyrbbookclub which probably will continue until at least fall 2020 4y
vivastory But you can definitely pull it off 👍 4y
sprainedbrain @vivastory this is actually quite a bit less than I‘ve done in 2019. I think I‘m going to finish all of them this year! 4y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @sprainedbrain Thank you so much for sharing this! I‘m excited you and @vivastory are joining in the fun! 4y
gradcat @BarbaraTheBibliophage Okay, so I finally found this page again—yay! I‘d like to join in...is there anything I need to do? 4y
BarbaraBB @vivastory At least! I hope it‘ll last a lot longer 😉 4y
vivastory @BarbaraBB 😄 I think there will be enough people interested in signing up again once the first round is over 4y
HOTPock3tt @BarbaraTheBibliophage I‘ve decided to possibly try out this challenge. I have about 5 books I‘m planning to read in 2020 that will fit these prompts 🤔🤗 I‘ve never done a litsy challenge before. Hopefully @sprainedbrain will keep me from screwing up the rules 😅😅😅 what are they exactly? 😀😂 and what does mashup mean? A mashup of genres? Sorry for newb questions lol (edited) 4y
sprainedbrain @HOTPock3tt haha! This one is not complicated... just pick either a memoir or a mystery to fit each bingo square. I took mashup to mean a genre mashup, like the tagged book that I plan to read. There are also those books where an author takes an existing book and mashes it into a different genre. For instance, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. The trick here is going to be finding a mashup that‘s also a mystery. 4y
HOTPock3tt Ohh I didn‘t know that! Lol I thought we‘d be able to apply any book to the prompt. Que to me to ask first! Lol 🤣 i may not be able to do it then 🤔 not sure I have memoirs or mysteries to fit those prompts 😪 *sigh* I should probably leave the challenges to the pro‘s 😎🤣 @sprainedbrain 4y
sprainedbrain @HOTPock3tt I‘m that case, you should just adapt it and pick any book (not just memories and memoirs) to fit the prompts! It‘s just for fun, not fabulous prizes or awards. 😂 (edited) 4y
HOTPock3tt @sprainedbrain Can I actually do that? Lol! 😅 if so I could possibly join in. (edited) 4y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @sprainedbrain @HOTPock3tt Fun convo on challenges over here ... I made this challenge up for myself, and then decided to share. No points or prizes, just reading. (I‘m a lazy host, and this IS my second challenge out there.) I‘d agree that you can adopt my prompts for your own genres. It just wouldn‘t really be the #mandmchallenge2020 ... but hey, why not? 4y
