Check for trigger warnings on this one because a main plot point came as quite the surprise to me, and I kind of wish I had known ahead of time…but I can also see how not knowing gives it more of an impact. Either way, this book really hit me in the feels ♥️

I‘m so excited to celebrate a GREAT reading year! Honestly felt like a TIE between Artist and the Feast, Wild Dark Shore, and Wedding People, but this one won out for its pure positivity, and how much it still lingered throughout the year.
See any you loved, too??

ferskner The Wedding People was one of my favorites in 2024 and I'm so happy to see it get so much love this year! 4d

2nd last book of the year. My Bookclub book pick.
This was an entertaining read.
I‘ve been separated/divorced for about 10yrs now but this book caught me off guard and brought back some feelings that I thought I‘d put to rest. It was surprisingly insightful and even made me cry in one part but I won‘t share as it feels too intimate. You definitely can‘t judge this book by its cover. I still can‘t decide if it‘s a 3.5 or 4 ⭐️ read.

Rissreadswithcats @Reggie I think you would like this one. 💙 6d
Reggie I will check it out. My friend here read it this month also and recommended it to me. So that‘s 2 for 2. lol 5d

#12Of2025 March This book was so good it actually surprised me ! It‘s hard this month, I feel it‘s almost a tie . I enjoyed The Woman In White which was a buddy read with the #HashTagBrigade hosted by @BarkingMadRead

TheEllieMo It‘s a good month when you struggle to pick between two or more best reads! 1w

The funny yet emotional tone of this book was exactly what I didn't know I needed.

A blend of humour and tenderness that offers a different perspective on the darker parts of loss and grief. With its thoughtful pacing, clever dialogue, and emotional richness, Espach weaves a captivating tale of strangers meeting and, in more ways than one, helping each other out.

Finally read this and loved it. I rate a book anymore not by the writing style but how I feel at the end of a book. 5 stars bc I loved Phoebe‘s realization that she is who she is and to just jump into what makes her feel good for herself. Excellent conversations that are depressing and funny!

This took some time to get into, but once I did, I absolutely loved it.
I appreciate what Phoebe brought as a character. Her ability to just be and not worry about what anyone else thought of her was quite inspiring. The way she treated and spoke to Juice, she handled so many situations with grace. I just loved it.
This was one of those books that I needed to read at this time in life.

At first I thought this book was going to be very depressing and sad, but it ends up being the opposite. It‘s inspiring and makes you think and feel and ponder. In addition to those things it has a great storyline and interesting characters with great dialogue. By the end of the book all the characters are beloved. I highly recommend giving this book a read. No spoilers, you just need to read it.

JohnLAndBenji I almost bailed on this book because I assumed that Phoebe would kill herself at the end. I got a spoiler from another litsy user that she doesn‘t, so I look forward to finishing this. 2mo
Sparklemn I loved this book. So glad you enjoyed it! 2mo
