Mehso-so

Alex Fletcher is an ex-Marine and is now a pharmaceutical rep with a bit of paranoia about flu pandemics. The year is 2013, and he has a vivid memory of the Swine Flu outbreak. Alex‘s paranoia has led him to stockpile food, water, power supplies, and plenty of guns and ammo. His plan is a simple one: isolate himself and his family from everyone throughout the flu outbreak, even as the world they know crumbles around them…

The first in the Rizzoli and Isles series, which I've read but somehow don't own (though I own most of the rest of them). One of my favorite thriller authors.

So I picked this up for #GenreChallenge and can tell you medical mystery is not my genre!

I did get about 50 pages in and was confused by all the doctors listed and the switch from Ava to Noah as narrators didn't do anything for me.

So, yay for trying new genres. Unfortunately, this one didn't work for me!

Book 14 for #SummerEndReadathon @TheSpineView

Not as good as Cook's older books. I figured out what was going to happen in the first part of book. More a rant about healthcare in America. We already know it sucks. Goodreads Giveaway that I won.

Leant to me by a friend - great thriller/ murder mystery. I struggled to put this down. I noticed after I finished it was book 3 in a series containing the two main female protagonists - you don't need to read the others beforehand, but I will definitely circle back and read others from Tess Gerritsen.

BookishMadHatter That's such a good series 1y

I didn‘t hate it. The mystery was ok. But Adam, the main character, is an asshole. The whole plot could‘ve largely been avoided if he had communicated with his wife instead of yelling at her and “insisting” she obey him without question. And honestly, I doubt even in the 80s nobody walked into an Dr office and said “I‘m so-and-so and I‘m here for an abortion.” 🙄
