I miss the library so much. I can‘t wait to start going back. Our local branch is still closed😢 I‘m happy to have Overdrive, but there‘s just something about going into the library, browsing though the shelves, and sitting quietly in a chair. #Librariesrock #needmorebooks #needmorequietspaces

So. I‘m trying to become a more regular library user and to stop buying so many books (since I‘m unemployed.) and what do I find a the library today? A $4.00 used book bag sale! Got a few gems. The tagged book is my favorite WWII story. I loaned out my copy years ago and never saw it again. Found this perfect hardcover version. Three Maisie Dobbs! And of course one book I already own. #bookhaul #librariesrock

marleed One of my pure joys is thrifting a mint condition hardback of a book I loved. My ultimate goal is that my personal library is filled with books ranking from my 4.25, B+ to 5, A+. Of course, I also need to keep some classics that I may have starred lowered but gave myself a gold star for getting through it (happening now!). 2y
LeslieO @marleed I love used book shopping. I should set some goals, like yours, but I‘m more of a random shopper! 2y
kspenmoll Great haul!!! At least they are not new books! Our town library just reopened today. I am so excited!! 2y

“...I was allowed into the Hildegard Library. It‘s hard to describe the feeling this gave me. The first time I passed through its doors, I felt as if a golden key had been given to me—a key that would unlock one secret door after another, revealing to me the riches that lay with.”

I get it; I definitely get it. #librariesrock

Another inspiring day digging into the archive at the British Library - getting ready for an upcoming working trip to Finnish Lapland. #librariesrock

LeahBergen That sounds like a great work trip! You should take this book along for fun reading material (it‘s still TBR for me 😆) 3y
TiredLibrarian Haven't been there in years, but such a wonderful place! Good luck with your research. 3y

Cinfhen Is it terrible to be more excited for the library than my family @suet624 ?!? 😜 (edited) 3y
Suet624 Not at all. (While I love my children they don‘t bring the same kind of comfort that a library does.) 3y
Cinfhen Ha😂😂I knew you‘d understand @Suet624 my fellow 🦀 3y
TrishB Well books and family - what more could you want! 3y
Kalalalatja I love your planning ahead 🙌 3y
Cinfhen Ha!!! @Kalalalatja and I have 8 more books on request 🤓 3y
Cinfhen I‘m giddy just thinking about it @TrishB 🥰🥰🥰 3y
KarenUK I‘m a total planner too.... love how organized you are! 😘💕 3y
MicheleinPhilly 😂😂😂 I love this. 3y
Cinfhen Early retirement has some benefits @KarenUK @MicheleinPhilly I put my free time to good use 😉🤓😂❣️❣️ 3y
Kalalalatja Will you even have time to read that many books? 😅 How long are you there for? 3y
Cinfhen 7 weeks @Kalalalatja Think about how much damage I can do!!!!! 3y
Kalalalatja Ah, that makes a lot more sense, then! 😄 I got you a very (very!!!) late birthday present, but I think I‘ll wait with sending it to you, so it won‘t spend the summer at the post office, or risk being send back to me again 👍 3y
Cinfhen You‘re so sweet @Kalalalatja I didn‘t know you had a package returned to you😱😱😱 3y
Kalalalatja Oh no, I didn‘t, but I know at Danish post offices, a package will be sent back if it isn‘t picked up within 14 days, so I just assumed POs had similar rules in different countries 😅 3y
Cinfhen They do have that rule here @Kalalalatja but I‘m glad it hasn‘t happened ( yet) 🤞🏼 3y

Turns out, American copy wins. This is why, and this is why I‘ve lost my bookish mind....last night I noticed in the British copy, 2 things were missing: Map end pages of Ievoli, AND the family tree (which I have posted below). I want you to know I didn‘t sleep well last night (hence losing my bookish mind over details). I went to Barnes and Noble today to secure an American copy. I left BN on a bookish high and drove through puddles of sewage👇🏽

JanuarieTimewalker13 There was some kind of major poop dilemma at Houlihan‘s and my car still smells like a sh&tmobile. This too shall pass. The things we do for book love. Lol 3y
JanuarieTimewalker13 If I hadn‘t had a library copy initially, I would‘ve never known the difference in the 2 editions. #Librariesrock 3y
marleed I‘m fascinated by the UKvsUS edition of books. I want the UK Daisy Jones! I just saw Cecilia Ahern post the cover for PostScript and I bet that the UK cover! 3y

JanuarieTimewalker13 @marleed I like the different covers, but I want the guts to be the same. Lol I have the BOTM of DJATS...love both the American and British ones...loved that book! Will never let go of it, but I want to listen to audiobook next year, bc it‘s supposed to be a great format. 3y
marleed @JanuarieTimewalker13 DJATS I listened and read simultaneously! And then I immediately relistened (first time ever!) to see if I could pick up on any nuances- having known the end. 3y
JanuarieTimewalker13 @marleed that‘s so funny bc I wanted to immediately re-read it too, but I got sidetracked with other books 3y
cookreadsleep I loved the family tree - the book wouldn‘t have been the same without it! 3y
JanuarieTimewalker13 @cookreadsleep I agree! It was especially helpful in the beginning. Oh my goodness this book is incredible. 3y
