The body of a teenage girl is found in Rydal Falls‘ churchyard. The autopsy identifies the girl as sixteen-year-old Shea Wilkinson. Another girl has gone missing, a young nurse called Milly. Milly was last seen chatting to one of Morgan‘s colleagues on the force. Can she trace the clues and get inside the mind of the most cunning killer of her career?

EadieB This is the 7th book in the Detective Morgan Brookes series. I have read a few other books in the series but this book can be read as a standalone. This is an intense read with twists and turns that cause you to keep wanting to read until the conclusion. I'm looking forward to the next read. I would like to thank NetGalley and Bookouture for a copy for an honest review. If you love mystery thrillers then you will love this book. (edited) 2y

This was my first Helen Phifer book but won't be my last. When Sara Fletcher goes missing from a Forest Pines campsite it proves that women should not go camping alone. Three other women have disappeared in the past and The Traveling Man has been blamed. He usually waits 72 hours before killing his victim so time is running short. The book is full of suspense which makes this fast-paced plot unputdownable.

EadieB I guessed the killer even though there were plenty of twists. I enjoyed learning about Det. Morgan Brooks and Det. Ben Matthews' relationship and look forward to the next book in order to see what develops. Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for a copy of the ebook for an honest opinion. #BookSpinBingo 2y

Bk2. Det Lucy Harwin & Det Mattie Jackson of the coastal town of Brooklyn Bay are investigating a woman found dead in a patch of wasteland. A second victim is discovered & then a young family is shot in their home. They soon realize that the murderer is replicating murders carried out by infamous serial killers. The killer is now after Lucy. Can she save herself before she becomes the final piece in his twisted game? Excellent read. Recommended.

First book in Det Lucy Harwin series. The Moore Asylum housed the forgotten children of Brooklyn Bay but closed its doors in 1975. When 4 murders of people connected to the Asylum occur, Lucy knows she must dig into its history. What dark secrets lie within the asylum‘s walls? What scandal led to its closure 30 years ago? Will Lucy become a victim too?

Day 4 - #12Booksof2020 #ShareTheLove @Andrew65

Setting is the Lake District. It is the 2nd book in the series but can easily be a standalone. Gabrielle Stevens is found murdered in her bed. DNA is found from Gary Marks who has been in Strangeways Prison for over 20 years. Another close match fo DC Morgan Brooks is also found. We get more information about Morgan's past and family. Is Morgan personally connected to this case?

EadieB I found the characters to be well-developed. The plot was suspenseful and kept the pages turning with lots of twists and turns. I thought I knew the killer mid-way but the author surprised me in the end. I am anxiously waiting for the next installment and I would highly recommend this series for those who love mystery-thrillers. I would like to thank NetGalley and Bookouture for a free copy for an honest review. 3y
