I love an enemies to lovers trope, but not when the enemies part contains physical and emotional abuse...
And while I quite liked Pestilence overall, I found it hard to like the MC Sara.
But overall I found myself intrigued enough by the premise and might even read the next 🤔

I have almost finished my #DoubleSpin - The House in the Cerulean Sea. I have an hour left and hoped to finish it today, but my partner has just had a new job confirmed and he wanted to celebrate! ☺️ it‘s definitely one of my favourite books this month and I can‘t wait to finish tomorrow!
Finished "Hunger" and "Warcross"! I'll be sending them to @jillannjohn by Monday! "Hunger" was a reread, and it was cool (not amazing, but an interesting concept). I have mixed feelings about Warcross. I was totally into the plot and all, BUT I wanted to strangle the main character for being an idiot. pickThis second volume of East of West doesn't "Wow!" me as much as the first volume, but the quality of the story, world, and art remains excellent. You can feel the story building to something epic, but this volume doesn't provide that payoff. The best part of this volume is Death's encounter with the Oracle. Nick Dragotta's rendering of her makes her a truly twisted creation. I hope future volumes will show her backstory in greater detail.
For the first time, I'm struck by the design of the triangle. Is it made from four triangles to symbolize the Four Horsemen? And does that make the center triangle Death, the one going against the other three?
