#90sinJuly #FlagpoleSitta When I don't have an obvious idea for a musical prompt, I pull up the song lyrics & sometimes the meaning behind them. I've always liked this #earworm song but was interested to read an interpretation that said it was about Catch-22 which I confess I've not read nor seen the 1970s Mike Nichols film-yet. britt_brooke @DebinHawaii It's been sitting on my shelf for years. I have about 50 pages left now. It's dialogue-heavy and has taken me forever to read, but, yes, I'm enjoying it very much. 😊 7y

Cinfhen Very cool 😎 my son has been reading it for a few months as well. He keeps picking it up & then putting it down...I glanced at it a few times, doesn't seem to be for me 7y

TheNextBook @britt_brooke @DebinHawaii @Cinfhen I loved this freaking book. He just had such a unique writing style that is very tongue and cheek. Once I got used to that I couldn't stop reading or laughing! 7y

britt_brooke @TheNextBook @DebinHawaii @Cinfhen Once I got through the first 100 pages, and got used to the style, is when I started enjoying it. It's still been a slow read, but it's really good! I do love a good satire. 😉 7y

LinzTT This is one of the few books I've never got to grips with. I always get to about page 60 and put it down again bored. Maybe I should try again?! 7y

Girl in Pieces | Kathleen Glasgow

When I listened to #Flagpolesitta today, the book I am #currentlyreading came immediately to mind. Charlotte Davis is fighting a hard battle to get well, and so far she is doing okay. Though, I have a feeling it won't continue to go this way.

I am reading this as en ebook from the library, but I really think I need to buy my own copy. I am enjoying it so much and I want it as a part of my own library!

Kalalalatja @TrishB it is a very tough read too, with a teenage MC, so it is pretty hard to read at times 7y

Kalalalatja @Cinfhen it is hard to read! But I kinda ude it as a way to learn to (I am studying to be a psychologist), and novels is a great way to learn about people's experience. 7y

Kalalalatja @Cinfhen text books aren't always the best to convey how mental health issues really feel for the individual, but that's why it's so great to have novels that dive into the subject 👍 7y
