Beautiful Disaster was a story that sucked me in from the beginning and kept me on a rollercoaster of emotions throughout the book!! 🤍🖤🤍🖤🤍🖤🤍🖤

Michelle Paver is a master at creating atmosphere. I had listened to her previous book Dark Matter and was transported into an Arctic ghost story. Wakenhyrst is very firmly set in turn of the century England. It is claustrophobic, compelling, and delightfully creepy. I love my edition. It has gorgeous endpapers and an attached ribbon bookmark. Adore!

KimmyM Ooh I got this recently and I'm so excited to read it! 6d
ErickaS_Flyleafunfurled I need this! I loved Dark Matter - and this one looks just as good 6d
Tamra I have loved Paver! Must get! 6d
Bookzombie Stacked! I also love the cover. 6d

📖 The emotional connection I feel to the story & the characters. Even if the writing has issues, if I love the story and the characters—I‘m in! 📖 Yes, I have downgraded my rating after a reread. I don‘t reread too often, but sometimes if many years have passed between reads I change my mind. #Two4Tuesday

I‘d never heard of silkpunk until the #booked2020 prompts were revealed! This one was listed on GR as essential silkpunk. #newtoyougenre #auldlangreads

Butterfinger This is the one I've chosen to read for this prompt. 1w

A decent, entertaining and saucy read if you‘re after a bit of harmless titillation. This book is very much along the lines of Fifty Shades of Grey but - dare I say it? - the writing is markedly better. I‘m intrigued enough to want to continue following Eva and Gideon‘s story ⭐️⭐️⭐️

julesG The writing is much better. I remember reading this right after 50SoG and was pleasantly surprised. 2w
Ms_T @julesG It‘s amazing the difference a well structured sentence can make 😂 2w

#WeeklyBookReport Finished Montauk which surprised me in the end 3 1/2 🌟 Continuing with all my buddy reads and am reading them at a good pace. The Harry Potter book is a buddy read with my daughter. This one has always been my least favorite of the series but I listening to the audio version is changing my mind a little bit. #WeeklyForecast starting my next recommended book for #NewYearWhoDis.

Cinfhen Also like your graphics 🤩 2w
Jerdencon Hope you enjoy it! And all the audio books of HP are really well done imo 2w

First completed read for #NewYearWhoDis, and second completed read for 2020.

I fear that audio reading (vs print) this one was the wrong choice. I‘ve been to MOMA, and I recall not understanding some of the art that resides there. I felt the same way about Abramovic‘s performance art. I do think that framing this book around a real artist and piece was a nice touch. I wish I‘d appreciated it more, but glad to read outside my wheelhouse!

⭐️⭐️⭐️

monalyisha I‘ve been intrigued by this one. It seems like, even if you didn‘t love it, you‘ve had some interesting things to think about! 2w

Okay, this was lovely. Romance/erotica technically, I think, but what a plot! Felt a bit like an Agatha Christie, actually, but more ghosts, more racial, gender, and sexual diversity, and way more kissing. I was invested in both leads, the side characters were nicely fleshed out, and if the mysteries weren't always particularly surprising, I still had fun getting there. And a good length as well! Pretty excellently paced! I'll have to read more!

ssleif #queerbooks #transbooks This was a solid A, I think. if a few things had been more exciting or less predictable then maybe it would have gotten an a+, but I really had nothing more I wanted or could ask for from this book. It had me engaged the whole time. 👌👍 2w

I am not rating this book; it is ridiculous, unrealistic, predictable and I devoured it in 2 days...so it was also readable, funny and addictive.

Chicklit featuring a hijab wearing Muslim girl in London. It had its moments and it touched on some interesting cultural issues, but I'm afraid I found Sofia too annoying to ever get fully invested in the story.

mabell I picked this up and read a few pages - I didn‘t think it would be my thing. Interesting premise, though! 2w
CarolynM @mabell Yes, it is. I wish she'd written a more serious novel because I think she has some interesting perspectives but this was all very shallow. 2w
