Slow Horses | Mick Herron

This one was really good. A really fun spy romp with a bunch of misfits. Jackson Lamb deserves to be up there with George Smiley.

Brilliant book! I was trying to work things out all the way through (as well as laughing at the Boris jokes).

What is this? Charlie's Angels?

(This is very much not.)

arubabookwoman I just finished this one last week. Wonder how long we‘ll have to wait for the next slow horses book. I‘m tempted to try one of his stand-alone? Have you read any of his non-slow horses books? 2d
charl08 @arubabookwoman I don't think so - and I didn't realise be wrote so many. Lots to find! 2d

This book... this story...the writing... there aren‘t enough words to describe how absolutely beautiful this book was and how much I didn‘t want the story to end. Kate Quinn wrote an exceptional story laced with historical facts, filled with characters that felt so real. A great book club read.

kyraleseberg I really need to add this closer to the top of my TBR stack! 1w
Sahar @kyraleseberg Yes, indeed! And make sure you have tissues, tea, and chocolate nearby❣️(The bravery of these women... —a conglomeration of personalities gently lifted from the pages of history... 🙌🏻💐) 1w

“That‘s quite a face you have,” the Captain said. “Nothing going on behind it, nothing to show, anyway. And I‘m good with faces, Miss Gardiner. It‘s mostly in the tiny muscles around the eyes that people #give themselves away. You‘ve got yours mostly under control.” #QuotsyDec19

Day 3 of #AdventRecommends - this book was on my TBR for about 3 years before I read this!

Juliana is interested in science and ladybugs. She gets sent to London and secretly works on her research. She meets Spencer who works as a spy in the war office. They work together and obviously fall in love. It‘s a YA Historical Romance, so you kind of have to know what you‘re in for.

rubyslippersreads I received this from @Mommamanzi ages ago, and need to be sure I get to it in 2020. 😊 2w
