This book was so powerful and so full of information. This #nonfiction read I think will be my favorite for the month. Such a stressful part of WWII #bookspin @thearomaofbooks
The Maggie Bright by Tracy Groot was our November book choice for our local author challenge...
Tracy is a Christy Award-winning author and the Maggie bright lived up to all my expectations. I love historical fiction and this book is set in 1940's England when Claire child's inheritance the Maggie Bright, a 52' yacht. Clare has big plans but the Maggie Bright holds mysteries and war intervenes. While I really enjoyed this(cont in comments)...
Another Maisie Dobbs book, this time set during the excavation of Dunkirk during WWII. It is an easy read and enjoyable.
All done with this beautiful story of a reclusive man who cares for birds ,develops a friendship with a young girl who brings an injured goose to him. When Dunkirk needs boats he goes to save many lives + a legend emerges of a boat + goose. With another short tale equally moving I was wiping my eyes.
I love a 2nd hand bk with a message, but wonder who Eric was !

A very detailed book which describes the lead up and aftermath of Dunkirk using accounts of those present. Long but worth investing the time! Full review here: https://thecuriousmagpie2018.wordpress.com/2020/11/25/audiobook-dunkirk-by-hugh-...
Maisie Dobbs is investigating again as France falls during WWII. She is very much on the home front, dealing with all that entails. Missing young men and their ideas of heroism invade this book. Entertaining to read and hard to put down once it ended.
