What should I do?!?!
I own three of the #boty finalists and I‘m not feeling the other two. But I can get a free one.
A) do I choose one that I don‘t own and hope I‘ll read it?
B) do I choose one I don‘t own and put it in my LFL?
C) do I choose one I own and that I think more people would like and put it in my LFL
D) do I pick one and give it to someone as a gift?
I own the three that are marked.
I actually hadn‘t planned on reading this one... when it first showed up as a #BOTM option in April, I instead decided to read Song of Achilles first... and maybe my expectations were just too high, but I didn‘t love it! 🤷♀️ But after seeing continuous #LitsyLove for it- plus it winning Goodreads Choice, Litsy Awards AND #BOTY... I had to pick it up! And I am happy to jump on the fan wagon!! It‘s lyrically written and totally engaging!!
I did good this year! I've already read 10 of the 20 on the Book of the Year list, and I have 3 more on my TBR bookshelf! Huzzah! And, I do like how you can only vote on the ones you own. Seems more legit.
#bookofhemonth #BOTM #BOTY
#BOTM day!! I couldn't decide which one for this month, so I got both, plus the #BOTY #Lolly winner. The sad thing is that I wanted #SwimmingLessons too, but I'm still pouting over getting turned down for that one on #Netgalley 😬I'm so mature! Anyway, I'm excited for my Christmas present to myself!
I'm voting for Before the Fall because I think it's a really solid book, done just about perfectly. No tricks. Just a very well-written story about how life can change in an instant, and how our society manages that in today's culture. Hawley covers every angle, answers every question, and examines all the details with a modern lens. Definitely one of my top 5 for the year.
