While ultimately meant to encourage kiddos to go to bed without a fuss, just like dinosaurs, the first 2/3 of the book focus on all the ways dinosaurs COULD misbehave before bed, which might give a mischievous child some ideas they don‘t need. I love these endpapers though. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ #BBRC #a2z

When I think of #goldspines , I go prehistoric...

My nephew loves this book! Bedtime is so much more fun reading about how dinos get ready for bed. 🦖

vkois88 I have this one for when LO is a little older... she loves dinosaurs lol 4y

mabell @vkois88 It is a big hit at my sister‘s house! There are quite a few in the series, too. 4y
mabell @rubyslippersreads I‘m sure you‘re right! In fact, that must be how I found out about the book - self promotion 😉 4y

“No, dinosaurs don‘t. They don‘t even try. They give a big kiss. They turn out the light. They tuck in their tails. They whisper good night.”

This book would be great as a bedtime story for kids who love dinosaurs and/or are hard to put to sleep.
The book shows in the end that dinosaurs aren‘t fussy when they are put to bed, they kiss their parents and give hugs, and go to sleep. Kids may want to “act like a dinosaur” and go to sleep calmly just like a dinosaur would. Perfect for nap time/night time.

This book questions what dinosaurs do before bedtime. The book gives human emotions/attitudes reflecting a toddlers behavior before bed time. It was a very memorable book when it was read to me as a kid by my grandmother.

This one was better than the meal-time counterpart, and I was asked to read it twice!

Ostaff1 All the Jane Yolen books are beloved at our house. Owl Moon is another favorite. 4y

I‘ve been testing books for pre-school story time at the library... on my niece and nephew. They‘re loving it!

TEArificbooks The last time I read to preK the kids loved and the other books in the series. The kids were highly engaged and had a hard time keeping their butts on the floor. 4y

How do dinosaurs say goodnight is such a cute poetic story and would be helpful for parents and teachers to use to show that even dinosaurs have bed times and have to say goodnight. This New York Times selling series is great for younger kids. UDL 7.1 "Optimize individual choice autonomy." And EL 10: "Teach think pair and share in a cooperative group" I would use this EL to her the students talking to one another about the story. TS-RA

ChristinB The crafts in your resource are so cute and align perfectly with the book! 5y

This MF book won the Mockingbird award and I would best use this as a RA. It‘s a funny book but teaches kids the routine of going to bed. UDL-2.2. EL- 4. http://edu.glogster.com/glog/how-do-dinosaurs-say-goodnight/ksmphcb4e1 #UCFLAE3414F17

This children poetry book takes a peek into ten dinosaur families and their bedtime routines. Children will relate to the actions these dinosaurs take in order to postpone bedtime! Proper dinosaur names are used, which helps children learn them while having a good laugh! #UCFLAE3414F17

Sabrinac The ESOL strategy I️ will use for this book will be number 17, Provide contextual support through audio visuals, models, demonstrations, realia, body language and facial expressions. I️ will use this strategy by ensuring I️ am very animated during the reading, and I️ can also get a CD to go along with this poem! 5y
Sabrinac The UDL strategy I️ will use will be 5.1, Use multiple media for communication. I️ will use this one because, I️ can use a CD to go along with this poem and ensure the child understands the words in the book. 5y
Sabrinac After reading this short book, students will be asked to create their own “Dinosaur Day” book! They will create a book about what a dinosaur does when they get up, get ready, go to school, etc. This is the link to the lesson plan, http://www.scholastic.com/parents/resources/article/reading-activities/how-do-di.... 5y

Here are books I've read and liked with "night" in the title, or that were written by a guy named Knight. Haha. And look I read Night of the Grizzlies and then some years later, I listened to the audio. (It's very, very good.) #tonighttonight #90sinjuly

How Do Dinosaurs Say Good Night is a MF by Jane Yolen, illustrated by Mark Teague. This would be a great book to use as a read out loud for young children as it takes children on the adventure of bedtime with Dinosaurs as characters. https://sites.google.com/a/schlowlibrary.org/teacher-resources/stories-more/how-... #UCFLAE3414sp17

DrSpalding Yolen writes for the very young all the way to adults. An excellent author to expose students to! 6y
AlexandriaJ I love this book! I have read it to my VPK students in the past and it was a book that really kept them all engaged! 6y
