Fake It Till You Bake It
Fake It Till You Bake It: A Novel | Jamie Wesley
15 posts | 15 read | 10 to read
A reality star and a cupcake-baking football player pretend to be a couple in order to save his bakery in this sweet and sexy romance from Jamie Wesley, Fake It Till You Bake It. Jada Townsend-Matthews is the most reviled woman in America after turning down a proposal on a reality dating show. When she comes home to lick her wounds, Jada finds herself working at San Diego's newest cupcake bakery, Sugar Blitz, alongside the uptight owner and professional football player Donovan Dell. When a reporter mistakenly believes Jada and Donovan are an item, they realize they can use the misunderstanding to their advantage to help the struggling bakery and rehabilitate Jada's image. Faking a relationship should be simple, but sometimes love is the most unexpected ingredient. Fake it Till You Bake It is a sweet confection of a novel, the perfect story to curl up with and enjoy with a cupcake on the side.

This was okay. Cute and funny but I was looking for a little more oomph. Started on #audio last month and finished last night while #audiopainting

Cute fake dating story but I really didn‘t like the characters and didn‘t feel their connection at all. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

I devoured this fun romcom. Jedda is hated in social media because she turned down a proposal on a reality show. When she 1st enters Donovan‘s cupcake shop, she disparages the product without even tasting it. Donovan is her grandmother‘s favorite player on the football team she owns and she admires his business sense, so she asks him to take on her granddaughter as an employee and train her. Fireworks occur.

Mix feelings with this story but definitely there are some funny scenes. It is a hate/love rom com story. I liked that there is a representation of disability and love the grandmother support but direct in her objective to helo Jada grow in her life, to be more independent. Donovan is so lovely. I think the gifts in this box were practical. I liked them🤗 ❤️ 3.4⭐️

4✨ A hate to love romance of a football player/businessman and a internet/Tv personality. There was a lot of cursing in the first chapter, and the relationship went really fast. However, I really enjoyed the ride. This review is long overdue. I finished it over a week ago. Life is way too busy right now. 😭

So cute! Former reality star and football player/cupcake shop owner end up working together. When fans of the show catch wind, she says he's her new boyfriend. Impulsive vs. orderly matchup, however will that work out. For #RippedBodiceBingo - food on the cover.

I loved this book. Both characters felt so real and authentic. Yeah, I have trouble with love at first sight, but I rooted for them so much. This here felt real; therapist affirmations. It was funny how they got on each other‘s nerves, but felt good how they changed he others perspective. Logical and impulsive. Clear magnetism. The cupcake store was all absolutely adorable.

Oh what a fun and charming romance! Jada considers herself the outsider amongst her family of doctors and scientists. Floundering for her own path, a stint on a reality tv dating show only brings more chaos into her life. Meanwhile, NFL pro/cupcake shop owner, Donovan struggles to see why his business isn‘t flourishing. Sparks fly and the characters grow convincingly. I laughed- I may have teared up! And I definitely can‘t wait for the sequel!

Christine Wow, I envy how clean your oven is!! 2y

I really really loved this book. The two of them were totally true to themselves and badass. It was nice that there wasn‘t some crazy incident to ruin things for them and they were able to grow with each other. I also enjoyed the fact that her insecurities were what broke them up, but they both smartened up quickly. Loved that they had a small supportive circle and that they were just stereotypes. Cannot wait to read about August!

My May #BookSpin 🧁 Fake It Till You Bake It is a true light-hearted romcom that brings together Donovan, an NFL player who is the owner of a Sugar Blitz, and Jada, a reality TV star hiding from the negatives of social media. A fake romance turns into anything but all while navigating family dynamics, crowds of camera waving fans, self-doubt, and learning disability. Loved it!!
