Once again, Ruth is called to the scene of a crime, and discovers another ancient skeleton, this one surrounded by relics discovered by a metal detectorist group. She also clashes with an archaeologist that, as head of department, she has hired to take her old position. Norfolk legends, mysterious deaths, creepy old house, devil dog, Nelson in danger, and an ending that has me craving the next book in the series. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is installment 13 in the Ruth Galloway series. The best part of the series is the lives of the characters and the ongoing character development continues to impress me. I love how the author uses local lore in the plot development. Looking forward to the next book. 4⭐
This is #13 in this series and, yet again, Elly Griffiths does not disappoint. The mystery was engaging as is always the case with Ruth Galloway and company. The fact that I figured out who the killer was way before the end wasn‘t even disappointing because it‘s the relationships between the recurring characters that makes this series compelling and a must read every time. Looking forward to #14, especially after reading the last page! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Reading stats for March. Ended with twelve books read this month. Not too bad given the reading slump in the middle but seems to have passed now. Falling behind a little on my goodreads goal but there's still time.
This is my favorite mystery series, which I always order from the UK because I can‘t wait for the US release. I enjoyed this new one too. The mystery was typical of the series but I didn‘t guess the culprit at all. The personal lives of the recurring characters still keep me interested. I do wonder if Griffiths is starting to wind it down. I‘ll keep reading until it‘s done!
Living in Norfolk I love this series recognising the locations and legends. I'm a huge fan so couldn't wait for this and I was not disappointed. Its a really good read and the stories never get old. I figured out some of the mystery but not all. Ruth is still likeable and the triangle between her Nelson and Michelle is interesting and I'm still not sure which way it will go or which way I want it to go. Book 3 of #MarvellousMarch 5*
