Mehso-so

I cannot tell you how happy I am that The Bounty was not the disaster that its prequel, The Big Kahuna, was. I won‘t say that it was absolutely amazing or gave me the same kind of laughs that I enjoyed in the early books but it was entertaining. I will say that its “are they, aren‘t they” romance angle is getting a little boring. Overall, it was a fun mystery that had a little bit of humor, a dash of thrill, and a whole lot of action.

Kate, an FBI agent works with the charming, former con man,Nick,to search for a buried treasure of $30 billion dollars in gold stolen by the Nazis. They travel around the world, gathering pieces of a treasure map. Fast paced. Definitely ready for the Big Screen. Reminiscent of “National Treasure”. I think this would be a case of the movie is better than the book! 🤔

New audiobook. I have never read this author, but my sister-in-law loves them. So, I thought I would give it a try. Also someone here recommended it! #blameitonlitsy

Christy2318 This is the most recent book in a series. You‘ll enjoy most if you start at the beginning. 3y
DivineDiana @Christy2318 Thank you, Christy! I‘ll remember that! 🙂 3y

Co-writer #3 for this series. I have really enjoyed the Fox & O‘Hare books but this one was just meh. The plot was very OTT in places and this did not have the fun Kate & Nick banter I loved so much. Like Plum I‘ll still read but with much less enthusiasm and urgency. 🔫🔫🔫

Between a pick and a so-so. If you like wildly inaccurate adventures (think national treasure) then give it a go. If you read the previous book in the series and thought it sucked, give it a go, this one is definitely better, and more on pr with the first few in the series.

DivineDiana Giving it a go based on your encouragement, and the fact that I liked “National Treasure”! 🙂 3y
kimmypete1 @DivineDiana hope you like it (even if it is ridiculous 😂) (edited) 3y

I didn‘t know this existed until last week! I was number 35 on the hold list and then two days later it was available for pickup. 🧐 Not going to question it too much, bc I‘m having a blast reading this so far! Evanovich is a comfort author for sure - and she‘s got two more new books coming out this year, so I am happy!

I really like Janet Evanovich's writing. I've read others in this series and enjoyed them. This particular one I found it dragged from time to time. Seemingly a bit too mired in details. However, the last quarter of the book picked up and grabbed my attention. I finished with a smile on my face.

This is the latest in the Fox and O‘Hare series and it‘s a lot of fun! Definite Indiana Jones vibes and a great new character. The plot is fun if a little far-fetched, though that‘s how this series is. I can‘t wait for the next installment!

⭐⭐⭐
Not as much of the banter between Nick and Kate in this one, but it was a fun treasure hunt story nonetheless. Sort of reminded me of a grown up 39 clues.

While this one is better than its thoroughly-dreadful predecessor, The Big Kahuna, it still lacks the charm of the first five in the series; Hamilton is only a marginally-better co-writer than Peter Evanovich. (The characters sort of sound like themselves again, but the writing is just...really elementary. 😬) It‘s a fast read, so I‘ll soldier through; I just wish it was better. 🤷🏻‍♀️ #thebounty #foxandohare #janetevanovich #stevehamilton
