I am really glad to have read this book because it unveils heaps of information about the cosmos, the space, time, planets, and galaxies in relation to humanity and the laws of nature. Katie Mack has a way of making daunting concepts accessible and ultimately fascinating. Her style is superb! She provides more questions to extrapolate our understanding, or the lack thereof, of the origins of the universe. I may not have understood everything 👇

When I was in high school, I used to ponder then end of the universe and wonder whether things would end suddenly. Lucky for us, only one scenario Mack shares would cause that. 😉

What Mack does well is build on her explanation of physics principles as she teaches you about the universe. That said, this was denser to me than your average pop sci book b/c she relies more on theories than concrete descriptions of them. I‘ll stick with biology. 3⭐️

I‘m reading the tagged book in print for #sciencebookbyawoman for #booked2021. So far I‘m really enjoying it even though light-based physics is my worst science subject. (Only B I got in a pre-vet science!)

Also, why didn‘t I read Priestdaddy on audio for the #botmchallenge back in 2017?? Such a great #audiobook so far! She has a novel coming out in February.

I finally really finished it! I‘d been dragging my feet, because I didn‘t want it to end. Dr. Katie Mack has penned an enjoyable, funny, sometimes touching pop-sci intro to cosmology/physics that explores the various theories of how it the universe might end. I also learned the author & I have overlapping tastes in scifi/fantasy, based on the chapter epigraphs and use of Star Trek:The Next Generation to illustrate a concept. #ARC

Didn‘t realize I hadn‘t posted my review for Katie Mack‘s book The End of Everything. I loved it. Mack‘s voice for this book is excellent. There are times that some of the info got over my head, but for the most part, Mack does a nice job bringing the astrophysics behind cosmic destruction down to a level that‘s easy to understand. Definitely recommend this book. #nonfiction #astrophysics #WeesaGonnaDie

Just finished reading in THE END OF EVERYTHING (ASTROPHYSICALLY SPEAKING) by Katie Mack about what a “Big Rip” would be like, if that‘s how we all go “bye bye.” 😳😳😳 Fortunately, it‘s not likely to happen for tens of billions of years. Whew!

I love that Katie Mack quotes my favorite author in her book. I get an added kick out of this, since I just finished reading N.K. Jemisin‘s THE CITY WE BECAME before starting to read THE END OF EVERYTHING.

This is the perfect dedication for this book.
