The flap copy tells me this image is from an 1858 Currier and Ives print. But I prefer to think it‘s a picture of Tom O‘Kane, our firefighter with a heart of gold.

Normally, I have borrowing privileges at three libraries. Today, after two months and 13 days, I finally got access to one of them again. Online requests and curbside pickup at the smallest of the three? Still paradise. I made the most of it and chose a 676 page novel. ❤️💙💚

From yesterday's #libraryhaul! These are the books we bought. All for $10. Thank you #Litsyfam for showing @BookBabe and I that libraries sell books 😊👍🏻🙌🏻. I think I may be making this book a future selection for one of our #NYC bookclubs that we run 😎👌🏻. Any titles stick out to you as yay's or nay's?

DeeLew A Thousand Splendid Suns is amazing! 8y

Louise I second @DeeLew with a shout out for A Thousand Splendid Suns. It will knock your socks off and broaden your understanding of the world! 8y
Nonaroo In the Garden of Beasts is quite good. 8y
Zelma Kate Atkinson is fabulous but that one is part of her Jackson Brody series. I would read it order due to character development. Though I think you all have already read Case Histories (I could be wrong). 8y
ErickaS_Flyleafunfurled I have The Glass Room in my TBR too - looks creepy. A Thousand Spendid Suns is amazing. Good haul!! 8y
Bookzombie In the Garden of Beasts is a pick for me. 8y
Jerame2999 In The Garden of Beasts is very good. A look at preWW2 Germany we don't see a lot. 8y
BookishShelly A Thousand Splendid Suns is one of my all time favorite books. 8y
emmanoble I read The Glass Room years ago but I remember loving it 8y
OrangeMooseReads Merrick is good, but most Anne Rice is. In the Garden of Breasts is a decent read, wasn't my favorite but solid writing. 8y
MrBook @DeeLew @Louise @ErickaS_Flyleafunfurled.com @Bookishshelly Thousand Suns fandom is very large and consistent ???????. @LeahBergen @Zelma It's our 2nd Atkinson book after "Life After Life" ???. @StellaDz @Nonaroo @Bookzombie @Jerame2999 @OrangeMooseReads I'm a big Larson fan. Looking forward to this one! Is it your favorite of his? @ErickaS_Flyleafunfurled.com @emmanoble Glass Room was @BookBabe 's pick ?. She adores the cover ???. 8y
MrBook @OrangeMooseReads Rice is consistently stellar ???. @BookBabe got to meet her and get our copy of "Lestat" ???. 8y
OrangeMooseReads @MrBook I would love to get a chance to meet Anne Rice. 8y
MrBook @OrangeMooseReads I forgot to add "signed", lol. I wish I had gotten the chance too, but other duties had called that night *sighs*. 8y
OrangeMooseReads @mrbook I have only read this one and 'The Devil in the White City' I preferred Devil, but that could be because I hadn't read anything about H.H. Holmes before. 8y
MrBook @OrangeMooseReads Ah, yes, that makes sense. 8y
Dogearedcopy Ooh! 'The Glass Room' is so very good! Not quite Roshomon, which is different POVs, it's one room through a succession of owners... Check out Villa Tugendhat online for pictures of the actual house! 8y
MrBook @Dogearedcopy You are a fount of knowledge 😁👏🏻👍🏻! 8y
Bookzombie @MrBook I have only read this one and I'm in the middle of Dead Wake. 8y
MrBook @Bookzombie Nice! 😊👍🏻👏🏻👌🏻 8y
StellaDz @MrBook Devil in the White City is my fave but that's because it was my first and I love the true crime aspect 8y
MrBook @StellaDz Niice ???! Have you read "The Girls of Murder City"? You may like that true crime book as well ???. 8y
LeahBergen Kate Atkinson has done 4 Jackson Brodie mysteries. You should really start with the first, Case Histories. They are so good! 8y
LeahBergen Oh, the one that you bought is #4! 8y
Zelma I agree with @LeahBergen. You definitely should start with Case Histories and read in order. And it's a fantastic book! The writing is excellent. 8y
LeahBergen @Zelma and I always agree! 😉 8y
StellaDz I haven't! Thanks, I shall look that one up! 8y
