Hey @TheAromaofBooks thanks so much for the book. It is so unexpected...looks like a great read. I am sorry I am just posting this but my dad gets everyone‘s mail and it goes into #quarantine (thanks COVID) and he lets me know when I can open it. Plus our mail has been a little crazy!!! #LitsyLove

I loved everything about this book except for the MC, Lottie, who was basically a bitch to everyone & spent most of her time thinking about how she was treating everyone like trash but not actually changing her pattern of behavior. But I loved the concept, loved Lottie's Grandpa & his friends, loved getting some narrative through the grandpa's letters, & loved Lottie's boyfriend (way too good for her). All in all a fun read, I just wish that ⬇️

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) this trend of making unlikable female MCs with ever-patient partners would stop. Lottie's behavior was unacceptable, & Luke needed to tell her that instead of just taking her verbal & emotional abuse repeatedly.

This was a recommendation from my #NewYearWhoDis list!! I really did enjoy this one @Cupcake12 - I just like whining about books 😂 3y

ChaoticMissAdventures Interesting. I have a soft spot for unlikable characters, mainly because in real life we see them everywhere so it feels disingenuous to not have them in books, but also they give us so much to talk about! Sometimes authors go to far though, pushback from other characters is good. 3y

TheAromaofBooks @Cupcake12 - Another part of this book that I really liked but forgot to mention was that the romance was about her & the person she was already dating coming back together, instead of the usual trope where she finds out her long-term boyfriend is a cheating jerk & then discovers new love! I really like stories where a couple actually stay together & work through issues so I enjoyed that part a lot. 3y

TheAromaofBooks @ChaoticMissAdventures - I was pretty tolerant of her unlikableness at first because there was progression in her character. But then she just suddenly went right back to being a workaholic & it felt like a huge step backwards/like there was no point to the first half of the book. 3y

TheAromaofBooks @NikkiM5 - Her grandpa has this whole group of friends & they are SO funny & likable. I really enjoy stories where older & younger folks mix together & try to learn from one another & that happened really naturally in this story, with the younger couple trying some of the older guys' suggestions for dates while the older guys were trying dating apps & online stuff. It was great fun. 3y

May is always super busy for me so I am trying to stick with some fluffier books for the most part - I won't have a lot of brain space for deep thinking! 😂

TheAromaofBooks @LeslieO - @Yuki_Onna is completely correct!!! It's never too late to jump in for #BookSpin 😂 The basic challenge is to make a list of 20 books you've been meaning to read. On the 2nd of the month I draw 2 numbers (BookSpin/DoubleSpin) & everyone tries to read those numbers from their list throughout the month. The bingo part is for people who want to read more than 2 books. I draw out all the numbers & randomly put them into a bingo card. ⬇ 3y

nocto Good stuff! I am having trouble posting my #bookspin list today, also a bit fluffier than usual as I struggled in April, but finally finished my bookspin book yesterday. Hopefully whatever is getting in the way of posting it will clear itself up later! I'm all ready with my numbers and looking forward to your draw. Thanks! 3y

imyril I am joining this month, I swear I am, but Litsy won't let me post it! Every time I try it says it has saved and... doesn't save. I've reported as a bug, but it's weird - I can't post from web or app, but it's not consistent (so I posted fine first thing this morning, then thought OOOH BOOKSPIN but now can't post that!). I'll keep trying intermittently, hopefully it will work eventually... 3y

It's sooo frustrating when I'm trying to leave comments & can't tell whether or not they've “stuck“! I definitely ended up leaving the same comment three times on someone's post yesterday 😂 3y

I loved this book. It took me 3 days to finish and I lwas impressed with how the author made “family” at the heart of the story. We can all be busy with our lives but at the end of the day it‘s family and friends you can rely on. Lottie is a typical career woman but everything starts to go wrong...it‘s refreshing to see the male character fight for a relationship too. I loved the chapter breaks with letters from grandad to grandma

Started with my ARC as the first of two books I‘m hoping to read this week. I‘m not really liking the MC as she reminds me too much of me 😯 but I love the grandad and his friends as he deals with his grief but ‘Tinder‘ and grandparents don‘t really go together!
