Roses
Roses: The Tales Trilogy, Book 1 | Rose Mannering
8 posts | 3 read | 3 to read
She bears no name. Her silvery appearance is freakish to the numerous inhabitants of Sago, the cosmopolitan capital of Pevorocco in the Western Realm. With her mother vanishing at the instance of her birth, she is sent to live with the cruel, rich Ma Dane, where she is punished daily for something, though she knows not what. Tauntingly named Beauty, she flees Sago in a violent uprising that sets out to massacre all Magics and journeys to the farthest point of the country. But Beauty cannot hide in the grassy Hillands forever. Before long, the State officials find her and threaten to take her back to war-torn Sago where death surely awaits. In a midnight blizzard she escapes them, running into a deep, enchanted forest to a great and terrible beast who will bargain for her life. But can Beauty accept Beast? Eternity is a long time. Now for the first time in paperback, Roses is sure to capture your heart as you fall in love with Beauty and her Beast all over again. For readers 12+, this is a very imaginative, fantasy retelling of a classic fairy tale, which is still popular to the YA genre. With lessons about bullying others and falling in love, this is not only a light, fun read but also engages kids to think about their relationship to others in the real world. Sky Pony Press, with our Good Books, Racehorse and Arcade imprints, is proud to publish a broad range of books for young readerspicture books for small children, chapter books, books for middle grade readers, and novels for young adults. Our list includes bestsellers for children who love to play Minecraft; stories told with LEGO bricks; books that teach lessons about tolerance, patience, and the environment, and much more. While not every title we publish becomes a New York Times bestseller or a national bestseller, we are committed to books on subjects that are sometimes overlooked and to authors whose work might not otherwise find a home.

Thank you to Celebrate Lit Bloggers and Rena Groot for picking me to participate in this week's Book Tour since this was my first time doing a tour with them. The Characters were so intriguing and interesting to read about. Rose was definately my favorite especially since she tried to rely on God more through Prayer even tho at times she was questionable about it.

Hubby has been dealing with some medical issues the past month-nothing major, but things that needed attention/checking out. It‘s been a stressful time, but everything has worked out, and we‘re both feeling relieved. He brought these home for me today, he said to thank me for being there for him. As if I wouldn‘t. Okay, you can mop up the puddle that is me right now.

This is an unfinished Mirabilia that I should dig out to work on again. I think it's on 32 count linen, which hurts my eyes. My daughter in this picture is now in the 7th grade. I need to find other pictures. I have given away almost all of the cross stitch I've done. Right now I'm thinking its a lot of hours I could have also been listening to audiobooks. 😉

Grrlbrarian Lovely work! So sorry it hurts your eyes 😢 8y
ramyasbookshelf I think of so many activities/hours driven and wish I'd had audiobooks then! Lol! 8y
ramyasbookshelf I'd love to see a closer pic of this. It looks so intricate. 8y

Baileeandme Beautiful work! You should finish and gift it to your daughter. 8y
KVanRead Wow! Gorgeous! 8y
JacqMac Beautiful! 8y
BethFishReads Yes! Needlework = audiobook time! 8y
LitHousewife @Grrlbrarian My pride has prevented me from buying a magnifying class to wear between myself and the linen. 😁 8y
LitHousewife @ramyasbookshelf @BethFishReads If I ever get back into it, you can be sure there will be audiobooks involved. 8y
LitHousewife @ramyasbookshelf I'm trying to remember where it is. When I dig it out I'll take a close up. 🙂 8y
LitHousewife @Baileeandme By the time I finish it she'll be old enough to appreciate it. 😃 8y
Shortstack I love cross stitching! I'm hoping I have more time to do it once school is done! 8y
Owlizabeth I can't stitch and listen at the same time!! My brain gets confused concentrating on both...🤔🤔 8y
BookishFeminist 😍😍 it's stunning! So happy you dug this up. I love it. Cross stitch is my favorite thing to do while listening to audiobooks! I've gotten so much read and made. 8y
LauraBrook Wow, that's beautiful! 8y
[DELETED] 2232195534 I used to love cross stitch, but my eyes don't allow it anymore. It was either stitching or reading. Guess what I picked. Ha! Such a beautiful project. 😀 8y
LitHousewife @Shortstack I hope you do, too. It's something to look forward to. 🙂 8y
LitHousewife @Owlizabeth I like to craft in front of the TV. It used to drive my husband crazy that I would stitch and watch a movie. He had to focus completely. I told him I get what I want out of TV/movies when I craft, so leave me alone. 😂 8y
LitHousewife @BookishFeminist Thank you! The bug is nipping at me again to pick it back up. I may be buying a granny magnifier this weekend. 😂 8y
LitHousewife @kaysreadinglife I pretty much have picked, too. Still, @BookishFeminist had got me thinking about it again. 8y
BookishFeminist @LitHousewife Do it! Granny magnifiers & a good natural light lamp do wonders. 👌🏼 my Ottlite keeps my eyes working! Also appropriate: #DamnitLitsy 😂😂 8y
LitHousewife @BookishFeminist #DamnitLitsy indeed!!! 🤗🤗🤗 8y
marixa I love to cross stitch! And sew, knit, paint etc. I associate audiobooks with walking...now a whole new world is opening up! 8y
NatalieR Absolutely stunning! 💖 8y
Gleefulreader Since I'm not taking courses this fall (first time in two years) I can finally get back to some of my projects and I think audiobooks are the way to go! I always feel this push and pull between cross stitch versus reading, but I can have both. I CAN! 8y
LitHousewife @Gleefulreader Yes, ma'am, you can! Please share pictures when you do. 😃 8y
LitHousewife @marixa In that case, my work here is done. 😂😂😂 8y
LitHousewife @NatalieR Thank you!!! 8y
moranadatter That's beautiful. 8y
SusanInTiburon Stunning. You could frame her just like that, and it would be a perfect work of art. 8y

Raced through this in a day. Loved the main character and how the author played with the idea of beauty. Unfortunately, there are to many questions left unanswered by the end of this book and the time spent with Beast was to little leaving him a flat character/an unsatisfactory relationship.⭐️⭐️⭐️

MrBook This is what my feline does!!! 😹 8y
