I went through a phase of reading tons of Paulo Coelho because I didn‘t know what else to take out from the library and I wanted to recapture the magic of The Alchemist. The Zahir did that for me.
The rest of the books were so-so because they felt like repetitions of the same theme but I loved this one. It‘s about a man on a journey to find his wife who disappears without a note or a trace.

My weekend stack! What are you reading this weekend?
'Esther asked why people are sad. "That's simple," said the old man. "They are the prisoners of their personal history. Everyone believes that the main aim in life is to follow a plan. They never ask if the plan is theirs or if it was created by another person. They accumulate experiences, memories, things, other people's ideas, and it is more than they can cope with. And that is why they forget their dreams".'

I have just started reading paulo Coelho's book, The Zahir. After reading the first few pages, I got very much interest in it and willing to read the whole book within a week. I would recommend this book of love, loss and obsession to u all.
'We need to forget what we think we are, so that we can really become what we are.'
-PAULO COELHO
The Zahir
Paulo Coelho writes very simply and realistically, though at some points it was a bit difficult to understand who was talking to who, because the names weren't mentioned.
The premise is meaningful but it took six months to complete the book. I recognize the author is world renowned but the journey to finish this book felt as long as the journey the protagonist took to find The Zahir. Nonetheless, #litsyatoz reading challenge is what encouraged me to persist.
What a profound statement on love. Although I've not really ever experienced love, I can see how this could be so true. #zahir #love #quotes #pablocoelho
All you have to do is pay attention; lessons always arrive when you are ready, and if you can read signs, you will learn everything you need to know in order to take the next step.
Definitely the worst Coelho book I've read
