This book has more than one might expect and includes information on Victorian dressing, mourning customs, and cooking. That's my idea of a good time.

It seems I'm in a mood to reread things. It's probably an indication that work is a bit much right now. Anyway... Enjoying this again. I just left The Drawing Room and heading into The Parlor (some of my favorite chapters).

I finally finished! I did like this book, it‘s just long and very focused. Very very focused, and I am not so focused lol. have read several other nonfiction books since starting this, and I finally buckled down with this one. Now I wanna ant to read more Trollope, since I think I will understand more that‘s going on in his novels. #nonfiction #history #victorianengland #englishhistory

This is a biography of sorts of the English Victorian home. Learn more about the style, and movement, inspired by Queen Victoria. #EnglishHouse #aprella

Mdargusch I need to stack this. Sounds fascinating since I love everything about Queen Victoria! 6y
Librarybelle @Mdargusch She‘s fascinating to read about! 6y

Next up for nonfiction! It took me a few days to pick something off my shelf (another reading goal—things I own!), and this is what I settled on. Hope to be done by March, but I don‘t know if that‘s reasonable just yet! #nonfiction #history

My best friend had this made for my Christmas present! I cried when she gave it to me because I‘ve devoted my entire life‘s work to Victorian studies. She‘s a fellow Victorian-ist so she definitely understands my obsession!🎩💕🏰

This is one of those endlessly fascinating reads with bizarre little facts on every page and a bunch of illustrations. The author takes you room-by-room through daily life in a Victorian house, from scullery to nursery (and leaves you praising the inventions of Maytag and Hoover 😬). #ComingHome #LyricalApril
