I absolutely loved the nostalgia this book provided me. As a kid I used to read Captain Underpants all the time and the creator of that wonderful series Dav Pilkey has done it again with Dog Man. The fun mix of adventure and comedy makes for an enjoyable, light-hearted read.

Jess_Read_This @britt_brooke 🤣 It doesn‘t go away for years. Bella was a puppy trying to herd our cats and it was hilarious! When we moved, we discovered a sheep farm down the road from our house. The first time she saw sheep, she cried and cried at the fence to go herd them. 4y

AllisonM89 @britt_brooke the chewing/nipping is tough. My older pup is terrified of the cans of air you use to clean a computer. Anytime we are dealing with undesirable behavior, simply mentioning the can of air is enough to make her stop. Based on my pup's reaction the first few times i actually sprayed it, I suspect it has some chemical scent that humans can't smell. Then again, my younger dog is completely unphased by it... 4y

Jess_Read_This One tip that worked well for training was when she did nip, we shook a can that had coins in it. She hated the sound. We had coins in cans all over the house, but it was a great deterrent. 4y

AllisonM89 @Jess_Read_This yup! All dogs react to something different. My dogs think the water bottle with coins is a toy. 😂 My dogs can be pretty obnoxious lol 4y

We‘ve tried the can of coins and a water spray bottle, but Champ quickly became undeterred with each one and thought they were toys. 😬 He mostly just tries to herd the kids who are 6 and 8, but he gets aggressive with it, jumping up and biting clothing. He‘s super sweet otherwise. 😅😂 4y

MsMelissa Gosh, I can‘t get over how cute he is 😍 Between this pic and the pics my cousin‘s been sending me of her 12 week old Portuguese Water Dog I‘m in puppy picture heaven today! Meanwhile, my little schnauzer has declared pay attention to me time as I try to work. She comes to my office, barks at me, gets her toy, and then proceeds to run around like a crazy dog to play. She doesn‘t understand that even though I‘m at home, I‘m still at work 😂 (edited) 4y

MsMelissa PS - she‘s going to have a hard time adjusting to when my husband and I have to return to our offices and my daughter goes back to school, and she‘s alone again during the day. I may have to request permanent work from home status for her 😝 4y

britt_brooke @Book_Fiend_Melissa 😂 I‘m stay at home, but my husband and sons have also been here all day since we got Champ. It confuses him as to why daddy is holed up in the guest room all day instead of playing! We‘ve been crating him for about 2 hours each day (away from everyone and with white noise) just to get him used it being crated when I run errands if/when the world eventually returns to normal. MicheleinPhilly Pickles does that with ice cubes. When we come home from a really hot walk she loves a cube but expects me to hold it for her while she licks it. 🙄 4y

My sweet, sweet 6 year old just finished the first 8 Dog Man books ... in one month! Now, anxiously awaiting book 9, out in September. He‘s sooo happy! Super proud of him! He‘s gonna rock first grade.
