I mean look it‘s hard to not see the ending coming here, but I did enjoy the story. Russian revolution but with a magical Faberge egg. Characters pretty flat and unsympathetic but what can I say, I was charmed nonetheless.

UGH. THE ENDING WAS TERRIBLE. I recommended this book to so many because it was beautifully written and a wonderful idea for a story and I was loving it. THE ENDING RUINED IT ALL. Cliche and I just UGHHHHH IT WAS SUCH A WASTE. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

I see this more and more in the world today with the constant polarization with politics and such. Sometimes I wonder how myself and someone else could both call ourselves American because clearly *I* am right. Always 😉 but really. I really liked this, it put into words I think what everyone feels at one point.

I just made a milkshake and I am reading this amazing retelling of the Russian Revolution with magical realism and I just don't understand why people don't drink milkshakes and read more often?
