I wanted to make sure I was going to actually read this before I posted it—I‘ve had too many bad apples recently. So I loved Marie Brennan‘s Lady Trent series and found this one by her ages ago and then picked up the sequel the other day so I thought it was a good time to zip through them. Almost 100 pages in and so far so good

iread2much I ended up buying 4 different edition of this book; I thought they where part of a series, but the 3rd editions had different names 😝 I read these before lady Trent came out and I loved them 5y

MeganAnn @monalyisha happy to be your reason for learning something today 😆 Lefse is such a staple in my Scandinavian family on my dad‘s side and in this state that I sometimes forget that it‘s not very common elsewhere. 5y

I thoroughly enjoyed this witchy novel! A unique world and story. Miryo is a witch who finds out after her initiation that she has a doppelgänger who must be killed in order for her to control her powers. Mirage is a hunter who takes a commission to find the person who murdered an important witch. What happens when Miryo and Mirage meet face to face and choose to work together to find a solution so that neither has to die? ⬇️ continued in comments

MeganAnn Why should a witch have to give up that other part of herself? What is right and wrong and if the way things have always been is wrong then how can they be questioned and changed? I loved the ending and I‘m looking forward to reading the second book! Thank you so much @taraWritesSci for including this in my #witchpleaseswap box! ❤️ 5y

A small book haul today. Half price books didn't have much that snagged my eye. I did get a different edition of son of a witch to match the others I have in the series and I found a book by Marie Brennan, of memoirs of lady Trent fame, that I am interested to discover the quality of.

MinDea OMG. They are totally twins!!!! Shadow looks like he might be darker but their coloring and even their faces look so similar! Shadow is a rescue. I got him in MI... any chance they could be litter mates? 7y

Zelma @MinDea Skippy's pretty dark too; the sunlight is shining on him in this photo. He has black smudges on all of his heels. 😀 but definitely not litter mates; he was found as a kitten under a house here in south Louisiana. He was supposed to be an outside mouser, but we brought him in after about a month. Good hunter but we got way too attached to leave him outside. 7y

Happy Friday all☺️ By the way,Doppelganger was a phase I went through but it was a very very good story and the second book (titled Warrior & Witch) was just as great! Brave New World is one of my favorites.
