Our driveway spontaneously grew a pumpkin! We found this near our strawberry patch, although the last time we tried to grow one was last year, nowhere near where this turned up, and none of them got this big. It was coming out by the drain pipe; we think it watered it? The kids were so delighted! 🎃

Pickpick

This adorable RF PB titled “Pumpkin Pumpkin“ written and illustrated by Jeanne Titherington is a great RA book for your PreK-2nd grade students. Jamie plants a pumpkin seed and watches it grow, grow, and grow. Jamie is able to learn about all of the different stages that the pumpkin seed goes through to turn into a big, orange pumpkin! #UCFLAE3414F19

Camrynm The EL strategy I would use with this PB would be 4: Link lesson topic to students‘ prior knowledge. See what the students know about pumpkins and their stages of growth before reading. The UDL principle I would use would be 1.1: Offer ways of customizing the display of information. Students can draw their own images of the different stages of the pumpkin seed. 2y
Camrynm Here is an activity that students can do in the classroom that can enhance their learning on pumpkin seeds: https://www.scholastic.com/teachers/lesson-plans/teaching-content/pumpkin-pumpki... 2y
DrSpalding This is a sweet story that obviously can be used around Halloween. Excellent use of Scholastic! They are the largest publisher of children‘s books and have wonderful resources for teachers. 2y
