Love You Dead
Love You Dead | Peter James
8 posts | 8 read | 1 reading | 9 to read
An ugly duckling as a child, Jodie Bentley had two dreams in life - to be beautiful and rich. She's achieved the first, with a little help from a plastic surgeon, and now she's working hard on the second. Her philosophy on money is simple: you can either earn it or marry it. Marrying is easy, it's getting rid of the husband afterwards that's harder, that takes real skill. But hey, practice makes perfect . . . Detective Superintendent Roy Grace is feeling the pressure from his superiors, his previous case is still giving him sleepless nights, there have been major developments with his missing wife Sandy, and an old adversary is back. But worse than all of this, he now believes a Black Widow is operating in his city. One with a venomous mind . . . and venomous skills. Soon Grace comes to the frightening realization that he may have underestimated just how dangerous this lady is. Love You Dead is the gripping twelfth book in Peter James' Roy Grace series.

I love the Roy Grace series and this was a really excellent one. If you follow the series you also get to find out what happened to Sandy. Can‘t wait to read the next one as always

Bought this book due to the reviews and was hugely disappointed. At first the book reminded me of a Jackie Collins style plot, who I absolutely adore, but with police procedural thrown in.

I found it long winded, with no flow between the constant character switch. It just felt like a lot of the book was irrelevant to the story.
The ending was tied together much too nicely, without any finalities.

First book of 2017 done! I love love love Peter James and the Roy Grace series ❤️ The plot of this one was especially intricate! 4/5 ⭐️
I'm marking off the #morethan400pages prompt on the #Litsyreadingchallenge2017 bingo with this one! Although I'll probably read many more long books this year, it feels good to color in my first square!

myers85 I've read the first two in the Grace series, I need to get back into it! 7y
ephemeralwaltz @myers85 yes! You have some catching up to do 😂 Number 13 is coming out next May! 7y
myers85 Well I've got quite a bit of work to do to catch up now! Well done on your bingo 😊 7y

New year, new book!

RadicalReader @ephemeralwaltz does this book have to be read before the other books in this series or is this a stand alone book ? 7y
ephemeralwaltz @RadicalReader This is part of the Roy Grace series. While you could read them in any order because each book focuses on one specific crime case, I recommend reading them in order because there are constant references to the past and you follow the personal lives of all the characters in a lineal order as well. There is an important subplot I won't spoil! (edited) 7y
RadicalReader @ephemeralwaltz thanks so much for your help eager to start this series love books that cause suspense and definitely because they are series book makes them all more interesting especially when you request several of them from the library so you don't have to endlessly wait for the next ones 7y
ephemeralwaltz @RadicalReader no problem! Yes, enjoy!☺️ 7y
