The blooming of madness. Christopher Poindexter's first book is an exploration of humanity at its finest and at its worst. This is a story written between 2011-2015 about the discovery of what makes us human: doing whatever it takes to keep the loneliness away.

Mehso-so

This collection of poetry was just so-so for me. If I were 15 years younger, I‘d probably connect better to the recent trend in poetry. As it stands, a lot of poets proclaim to be individuals, creating unique “art”...but they‘re all the same and the poems speak on the same things in the same way. It‘s tiring. And so, so angsty. But...at least most of these poems qualify as such. #FreakyFriday

Tamra Amen, so much angst. 😖 6y
AllenTStClair @Tamra I wish I was young enough and energetic enough to be that angsty. 6y
Tamra @AllenTStClair is that what it is?? 😂 I didn‘t ever like it, maybe I‘m an old soul. Maybe that is why I prefer the work of Ted Kooser, most often an observer. (edited) 6y
AllenTStClair @Tamra I was never young enough or energetic enough. 😂🤣 6y

Didn't get very many books this year for my birthday last week. So I bought my own. 😄 #birthdayhaul

While Christopher Poindexter doesn‘t have much structure or contribute to the traditional sense of poetry, he can turn a phrase. He is one of the more popular “instagram/Facebook poets” who went viral because he can connect on that desperately existential level. I‘m not gonna say anyone should keep his work in a glass case, but anything that makes people read and explore poetry is good for the current culture.
