So this memoir was a cart add on to qualify for free shipping...in that sense it was a winner. Nicole Kear is a good storyteller with a great sense of humor. She removes the blinders of living with a visual impairment and really allows the reader to experience what the loss of sight looks like. But it took her 17 chapters to really get there☹️should u buy this for $15.95?! NO! But for $1.82 Hell Yeah❤️ #BookOutletSaleRocks

#Aprella My new read is a NF set in #NewYork Nicole Kear was a 19 yr old college sophomore, navigating subways, city streets , bars and clubs when she is given life changing news. She has a rare disease that will render her blind within 10 years! I‘ve just started this book and I‘m already a fan of this spunky young woman.

Kalalalatja Sounds interesting! And that view 😍 6y

TrishB Sounds like s good read 👍🏻 6y
alisiakae Sounds like a great book! I once did some freelance work for an incredible individual, Mana Hashimoto, who is a dancer/performer who also gradually lost her sight. Her work is amazing. https://www.dance-enthusiast.com/features/view/Hashimoto-FLICfest 6y

👓👀🕶... #ReadJanuary #Autobiography

Equal parts touching & surprisingly humorous, Nicole Kear, at 19, learns she has about a decade before she goes fully blind due to an eye disease called retinitis pigmentosa. Deciding not to tell her patents about her condition & choosing to have kids in spite of the knowledge that she'll prob be completely blind before they're even in their preteen yrs, was both very admirable & frankly, a bit terrifying!

I read this book a few months ago and liked it a lot. First of all, I am a sucker for cool covers and cool titles. And the rather tragic story is told in a funny, lighthearted, and relatable way that will give you perspective and stay with you long after you've finished it.
