The Lemon Sisters
The Lemon Sisters: A Novel | Jill Shalvis
14 posts | 16 read | 14 to read
The New York Times bestselling author of Rainy Day Friends and Lost and Found Sisters returns to Wildstone, California, where two completely opposite sisterswho are still nursing wounds from the pastrealize they need each other more than they think. When Brookes older sister, Mindy, shows up at her door with her three kids in tow, she barely recognizes her sibling who looks like shes on the verge of a total breakdown. While adventurous, wanderlust Brooke was always the problem child, eager to slip free of Wildstone and its small-town constraints, Mindy was the golden child, who never had a hair out of place or a GPA below 4.0. The Mindy that arrives at Brookes apartment however, is a far cry from the ever-perfect doctors wife. Brookes further stunned when Mindy asks to trade places with her for a few days so she can pick up her pieces and put herself back together. What Mindy doesnt realize is that Brooke is just as broken. Her sister needs her though, so Brooke takes the kids and returns to Wildstone. But how does one go home after seven years away and what feels like a lifetime of secrets? It doesnt take long for Brooke to come face-to-face with her past, in the form of one tall, dark, sexy mistake. But Garretts no longer interested, or so he says. Only his words dont match his actions, leaving Brooke feeling things she long ago shoved deep. The sisters begin to wonder if the childhood taunts were true, are they lemons in life? In love? True or not, they know one thing -- you cant run far enough to outpace your demons. And when long-dead secrets surface, theyll have to overcome their differences and learn that sometimes the one person who can help you the most is the one you never thought to ask.

As always - good characters, good story, humor peppered throughout; but the cats😹 Ali McClaw, Chairwoman Miao, and Princess Jasmine - they stole the show

I love Jill Shalvis and always enjoy her books. This was no exception. This story revolves around Brooke Lemon and her ex-love Garrett and their road to forgiveness. I loved these two. It also deals with Mindy Lemon and her husband Linc. And deals with Brooke and Mindy repairing their relationship as sisters. 👇👇👇

tracey38 And while I usually love all of Jill's characters, I wasn't very fond of Mindy. She just kinda annoyed me. But I did love this book and look forward to Jill's next book, as always. 5y
tammysue Great review, Tracey! I felt the same about Mindy too. 5y
tracey38 @tammysue thanks! Yeah, I just didn't get Mindy at all. 5y

☀️😎💦 An enjoyable light & funny story that follows Brooke & Mindy Lemon, aka The Lemon Sisters. It‘s about sisterly ties, repairing broken family relationships, seeking change and the on-again/off-again relationship w/steamy tryst‘s between Brooke & ex-flame Garrett. A 4🌟 fun in the sun read for me (that can also be read as a stand alone)

tammysue @Lovesbooks87 She‘s a new to me author! I loved her writing and I‘ll definitely be keeping an eye out for her next release ❤️ @TheReadingMermaid I‘m going to finish the Candice Fox book I started before the Readathon as there‘s a long library waiting list on it. No worries I still plan on reaching my goal. 🙌🏻❤️ 5y

Once upon a time I used to have unbreakable rules when it came to books. One of those was about always reading series in order. Looks like all the rules are being broken in the interests of just managing to read anything. #romance #unusualbehaviour

Omg! This reminded me of when I visited my sister last and my niece, who was 4 at the time, yelled from the bathroom, " I have a nerdle". Apparently that was code for a bathroom check.

For me, The Lemon Sisters was a perfect stay-up-all-night to finish second-chance romance along with some sisterly bonding as icing on the cake. #secondchanceromance #sisters

Shalvis is easily one of my favorite authors and I knew I could turn to her book to bring some happiness in to my weekend. She absolutely did not disappoint.

As with the other two books in the series there are two main females with their own love story. I loved that this one featured an already married couple going through some stuff.
