Smokin' Seventeen
Smokin' Seventeen: A Stephanie Plum Novel | Janet Evanovich
16 posts | 102 read | 16 to read
Where theres smoke theres fire, and no one knows this better than New Jersey bounty hunter Stephanie Plum. Dead bodies are showing up in shallow graves on the empty construction lot of Vincent Plum Bail Bonds. No one is sure who the killer is, or why the victims have been offed, but what is clear is that Stephanies name is on the killers list. Short on time to find evidence proving the killers identity, Stephanie faces further complications when her family and friends decide that its time for her to choose between her longtime off-again-on-again boyfriend, Trenton cop Joe Morelli, and the bad boy in her life, security expert Ranger. Stephanies mom is encouraging Stephanie to dump them both and choose a former high school football star whos just returned to town. Stephanies sidekick, Lula, is encouraging Stephanie to have a red-hot boudoir bake-off. And Grandma Bella, Morellis old-world grandmother, is encouraging Stephanie to move to a new state when she puts the eye on Stephanie. With a cold-blooded killer after her, a handful of hot men, and a capture list that includes a dancing bear and a senior citizen vampire, Stephanies life looks like its about to go up in smoke. BONUS: This edition contains an excerpt from Janet Evanovich and Lee Goldberg's The Heist.

I started the month with three horrible books, so I went with the tried and true Stephanie Plum. I always love the audiobook version. Lorelei King does a great job.

The first few in the series were so much better, but this is something relaxing I can listen to in the background while working. I love that a car always blows up.

I may have gotten dressed, walked 4 miles, half on a local trail, and then changed back into my pjs. Maybe. And now I might be curled up in my library room, reading fluffy books and being lazy. #sundaymusings #currentsituation #lazyday #cantstopreadingevanovich

So here is my #17in2017. Technically, these are my 16 top picks of the year. I‘m still finishing my last book, but I already know it will make the cut. So my #17 will be The Warmth of Other Suns.

britt_brooke Wow, great list!! 6y

Natasha.C.Barnes These 17 in '17 posts are really helping me figure out who on here has really similar tastes in books to me, which is helpful for finding new books I might like. I gotta remember that you are one of those people! 6y
erinreads A Constellation of Vital Phenomena and The Nix topped my list last year! Both are AMAZING. 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 6y
HeatherBookNerd @Tamra I hear Alexie‘s memoir is terrific. That may need to go into my TBR for 2018. 6y
HeatherBookNerd @Natasha.C.Barnes I feel the same way. I keep looking for my reading soulmates to follow! 6y
HeatherBookNerd @erinreads Constellation was definitely in my top three this year. And I listened to the audiobook of The Nix and the narrator was perfection. 6y
Tamra @HeatherBookNerd I heard that too! 6y

I‘m still reading for this year but I don‘t think I‘ll have more ‘winners‘ for 2017, so I‘ll post my top #17in2017...it‘s been a fun year! I do have an ARC from next year in there (I‘ve left out several though).
My runners-up are: Evelyn Waugh ‘The Loved One‘, Krystal Sutherland ‘The Semi-Definitive List of Worst Nightmares‘ and Mindy McGinnis ‘The Female of the Species‘. I had a lot of fun with books this year (but just tracking since June) 💓

How we do dinner after the first night of an out of town swim meet. We are such a social family. I am trying to finish this book while he is watching fishing videos. (No I am not kidding, videos of people 🎣 fishing 🎣!)

RadicalReader @carys14 nothing better than enjoying a wonderful book and time with the family 7y
