I thought this was going to be a thrilling read, as the 'locked room' type thrillers are one of my favourite tropes. Unfortunately this book dragged. None of the characters are particularly easy to like, even Anna, & the pace was off. Very disappointing but a great atmospheric cover. 2⭐

A creepy psychological crime who dun it in the best spirit of Agnatha Christie. Guests at an isolated Scottish hotel and an impending sense of doom made this one fly by (that and my lovely reading spot on a beanbag in the Omani desert will be one of my#jennyos30 choices when I get on with my bingo card

Really enjoying this atmospheric and absorbing read! Half way through after only two days however that is helped by the fact I have a rubbish cold so have been sitting around when usually I'm on the go alot of the time... probably too much. Think Jerry is enjoying being able to snuggle up too 🥰🐶

Tamra Springers are babies like retrievers. Velcro! 😆 5y
RedLeaves @Tamra He is a working cocker but definitely looks more like a mini Springer! Oh you're so right, like my shadow 😂 5y
Tamra @RedLeaves he does look so much like a springer, adorable! Cockers are in the sporting family correct? Seems like they are very needy - at least all the ones I‘ve known! Definitely not dogs to live outdoors alone. 🤗 (edited) 5y

To escape her past, Anna takes a job at a hotel on the remote Scottish island of Rum, but when seven guests join her, what started as a retreat from the world turns into a deadly nightmare.
Each of the guests have a secret, but one of them is lying – about who they are and why they're on the island. There's a murderer staying in the Bay View hotel. And they've set their sights on Anna.

Seven strangers. Seven secrets. One deadly lie.

Bookworm1987 Loved this book 5y
Leanne.loves.books @Bookworm1987 I enjoyed it as well. I‘d been wanting to read it for ages and was glad I did. 5y

⭐️⭐️⭐️ A good suspenseful read with interesting characters. There were some loose ends that felt a bit unfinished, but I'm still happy I read it 😊

Actually enjoyed this book in the end. For the first half Anna was so annoying and whingy but after that the story picked up and all the loose ends came together. Worth a read.

A classic whodunnit. Easy reading, got through it pretty fast, (did not pick the villain) the only thing is I hate it when books waste your trying too obviously to throw you in the wrong direction. I didn‘t guess correctly but give me a little credit 😂 could have been shorter, and it‘s not long.

My April goals. I am still finishing “sleep” and that‘s turning out to be a fast one to get through, so hopefully finish up soon. Any recommendations what I should start with, without spoilers?

Mehso-so

An enjoyable read reminds me a bit of a Agatha Christie type mystery. A litte too far from reality for me but it did keep me going till the end
