Awake
Awake | Natasha Preston
Don't miss the latest gripping, high-stakes thriller from Wattpad sensation Natasha Preston, author of the runaway hit The Cellar. Of course, the dress was white. This is what I'm supposed to die in, I thought. Not many people knew what their last outfit would be. I pulled it over my head. It fit me perfectly. It had long, loose fitting sleeves, a modest neckline, and waves of material on the skirt. I hated it. There were no shoes, and I was afraid I'd have to run through the forest barefoot but there weren't a lot of options. Besides, I'd run barefoot over a bed of nails to get away. "Scarlett, are you ready?" he called. I looked in the mirror and took a deep breath. Time to fight for my life. Scarlett Garner doesn't remember anything before the age of four-until a car accident changes everything. She starts to remember pieces of a past that frighten her. A past her parents hid from her...and a secret that could get her killed.

What a fun read! The story was written very well (storyline wise) but it did have a few issues. It seemed like the author forgot about the age of the character and the editing was a little spotty. It just seemed like they took it straight from online and printed it. I couldn't look away and just wanted to keep reading! Natasha always comes up with amazing ideas for stories. Can't wait to read her new book!

Its 4:58am and I'm still wide awake. I have to work later today. Someone DEFINITELY needs to be slapped!!!

GripLitGrl 😂😂hope you get to sleep soon. It's the worst laying awake not being able to sleep 5y
Buechersuechtling My last night was similar, so with less than three hours sleep I perfectly feel you. How has your day been❓ Considering my night, mine was quite okay – with great, joyful, kind of gold-rush-end at the supermarket and at the drinks-cash-and-carry. (Yeah, I know how weird that sounds – blame it on my lack of sleep – but that‘s exactly how it felt.) 5y
RamsFan1963 @Buechersuechtling Its been okay so far, still about 5 hours before I can call it a day. I'm riding the wave of caffeine, I'll crash later. I'm off Friday so I can do the 3 Rs tomorrow: rest, recoup & read 5y
Buechersuechtling @RamsFan1963 Bear with me, I tend to forget where people are located. 🙈 Let me have a guess, you‘re not living in Europe 🇪🇺 but in the U.S. 🇺🇸. 🤪 Here, in Germany 🇩🇪, it‘s 11 p.m. – and again, I‘m not as tired as I should be ➕ not even near as tired as I expected to be after my last night. 🙄 If this condition is to last for a week or more my audiobook throughput will increase remarkably. ☺️ All the best for the next four and a half hours. Mehso-so

This book was a bit slow and repetitive in the beginning. About halfway through the book is where I was way more interested. It was an okay read. Nothing like "The Cellar".

So I re-read this story for the second time. I like the storyline even if it does have some technical errors I would change. Overall I enjoyed it again.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️?
4.5
I loved this book as much as "The Cellar"
The whole "love" thing was a bit much to me, but then again I'm not a very touchy feel type person.
I liked how you could read from both point of views from Scarlet and Noah.

RadicalReader @EmiisBooks I enjoyed reading The Cellar truly a gripping read and I got a vibe of the two twins in the novel The Shining that dressed alike and talked in sync 6y

Natasha sure knows how to write thrillers. I loved it. I do think if they took away the dual-perspectives it would of been less predictable though.
