this is going to be my first Christopher Rice novel and i heard really good things about this science fiction/ thriller 🦴 BONE MUSIC 🦴 i got this used and it‘s in beautiful condition and the hardcover under the book sleeve has fire embers on it, pretty book💜

This is a unique sci-fi thriller that begins with a baby being kidnapped and raised by serial killers for seven years. As an adult Charlotte fleas her past and is trying to live a normal life. However, Charlotte is unknowingly put into another ordeal, dealing with an experimental drug, that has extraordinary side effects.
I enjoyed all the characters. I really like the mix of thriller and sci-fi. I highly recommend it.
It's always surprising when your tiny hometown is randomly mentioned in the book you're reading. Especially when it involves the victim of a serial killer 😳

pickI still love Christopher Rice's writing style. This one was enjoyable and intriguing. Though I will say the description of the "bone music" was weird. Just the term and all, it was awkward. Other than that, I liked it.

Starting this today. I enjoyed his first two books more than his more recent work, so we'll see about this. It's about a girl who's been through a lot - the first seven years of her life she was raised by serial killers who had murdered her mother and taken her. Then after being rescued, she and her story are exploited by her real dad for money and fame. Then she's given an experimental drug and develops powers. And that's just from the summary!
pickGood story, interesting protagonist with multiple antagonists - which was one flaw, as the levels of threat weren't as high as they could have been. Overall, worth the read. #lgbtqauthors #ownvoices

I think amazon tricked me into starting a series (and reading a legacy author) all by dangling a "free" carrot in my face. A Kindle First? An amazon-something? What the hell did they change the name to, anyway!?! Unexpectedly, I am enjoying it. ?
