These comics are such a treat! I love the way jokes are delivered because they feel like a smooth progression of the characters' dialogue. I was delighted to see back to school and summer camp themes in this book. #unicorn #comics #lgbtqAuthors

Yoshino really brings the term "covering" to life in this book. He talks not only about queer people being required to act a certain way in public for the comfort of people around them (covering), but also covering demands placed on people of color, women, people with disabilities, and others. I enjoyed this read and reflecting on covering. #lgbtq #lgbtqAuthors #Covering
As charming as the other volumes so far! In this collection of unicorn comics, we get to see a bit more of Phoebe's parents, which made for some incredibly sweet moments. One of my favorite comics in this book was one where Phoebe tested how old her father was by asking him how various things in history were until she got him with the NES. #comic #unicorn #LGBTQAuthors
This charming collection of comics follows Phoebe and Marigold, the unicorn that Phoebe wished to be best friends with after saving her from her own teflection. I absolutely adored this first volume. The jokes are often aware of themselves and flow nicely with the loose storyline, really creating great characterization. I would highly recommend this series, especially if you're looking for a light, relaxing read. #Unicorns #LGBTQAuthors

Very excited that my copy of this came in the mail today! I ordered it because my husband expressed interest in reading it too, and I was ordering another item that I could save some shipping on by buying another item. Logically, I chose a book. I try to shop local otherwise. #LGBTQBooks #LGBTQAuthors
When I was a teen, I fell in love with Octavia Butler's Imago. I loved that some children in that world were born genderless and later chose their genders. I enjoyed finding that again in this world, as well as a combination of magic and science. Overall, I was not captured by this book. I felt like I missed important parts of the story that connected earlier events to later ones, and earlier emotions to later ones. #LGBTQAuthors #LGBTQBooks
Beverly explores the intersections of trauma, cultural traditions, spirituality, family, sexism, and other themes of her life. She does a great job of organizing her experiences and the experiences of her friends and family into big-picture themes. I loved the audio's narrator as well. If your life has been touched by any kind of trauma, approach this difficult book with caution. #Memoir #Nonfiction #LGBTQAuthors
