After receiving an ARC of a later book in this series, I did the normal thing and found the first one to read. This was a fabulous police thriller complete with great twists and turns. It is told in two time periods, and cleverly, has the one before the girl goes missing go backwards in time. The story and writing reminded me of Minette Walters mysteries and like her books, I loved this one. I am now eager to read the rest of the series. 4.5/5!

Really different style of writing with a mix of narrative, tweets and direct transcript style police interviews made this a bit more interesting than your run of the mill police procedural. Read it to get of my TbR (apparently I downloaded on the 2 Jan 2018!) but now I find there are 4 more in the series!!

This is book one in the series and having read a couple of the later ones, I was looking forward to seeing how it all began. I was not disappointed. This is a really good series of books. This story was really interesting and there are so many twists along the way. I figured out some of the twists but the end one did take me by surprise which was really good. The plot is steady but builds to a clever twist that takes you by surprise. 4*

RachelAmphlett Love this series, and now my grandad is hooked on the books too! 3y
kezzlou85 @RachelAmphlett me too. There's a new one out in April I think. 3y

Not the best start to day 1 of #20in4 but some reading is better than none. Hoping for a bit longer today. Currently got four books on the go so hoping to finish at least one this weekend.

Really intriguing right from the start,
Daisy goes missing from a family party fancy dress BBQ,sooo many secrets unearthed , very twisted.

I must admit it was a tad confusing on audio sometimes with it jumping to different characters and when it reeled off the online trolling conversations with all the hashtags and usernames it made me cringe 😅

Waaaay off my #bookspinbingo but managed to get these ticked off 😁

Daisy Mason goes missing during a family party, and it is up to DI Adam Fawley and his team to find her, and work out what has happened. It‘s full of twists and turns, and introduces an interesting cast of characters. The book does switch around a bit between characters and points of view, but it is generally easy enough to follow who is who. It also features newspaper articles and twitter threads in a way I‘ve not seen before.

A gripping psychological thriller. Lots of twists and turns - I never knew quite where it was heading. Plenty of cliffhangers and red herrings, too, which kept me on the edge of my seat. Just when I thought I‘d solved it, something would crop up which would throw it all up in the air again. Working my way through the labyrinthine of lies was a bit a headache! A well plotted and beautifully written page turner which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Totally did not see that ending coming!
Brilliant detective story with plenty of twists and turns which left me guessing along the way. Very well thought out and plotted. I had the advantage of listening to the Audible book so didn‘t have to guess whose perspective we were reading which I understand confused some readers of the conventional book. Audible has several people narrating. First in a series which is great news!

I‘ve been trying to get into this all day and I‘m only about 30 pages in! 😬I just can‘t seem to get into it! The formatting is super different and I think that‘s what‘s throwing me off. It doesn‘t have chapters and it switches perspectives but doesn‘t tell you who‘s perspective it‘s from so you have to try and figure it out. I did read at the pool where it was loud and distracting so I‘m hoping that was this issue! Have you read this? Thoughts?

I really enjoyed this book! The only thing I wasn‘t keen on was the pages of tweets, although I understood the cultural significance of a ‘trial by twitter‘ I didn‘t feel they really added anything to the story and by the end I was skimming them. I recognised that there was going to be a twist but I definitely didn‘t guess it which is always a sign of a good book for me 👌🏻 Looking forward to reading the next in the series 😀

Oh my gosh I absolutely did not see that coming! A riveting mystery with excellent characters that I did not figure out the ending to before the midpoint! Very excited for more from Cara Hunter.

This is Scarlett. She is angry that a) I gave her water in a bowl rather than a glass, and b) that my hands are occupied with coffee and books rather than pets. This is some serious reproach, you guys.

Basic plot was ok (8 year old Daisy disappears from a party. Was she abducted by a stranger or is the answer closer to home?) but none of the characters were very sympathetic. Rating: 3 ⭐️

Last night, 8-year-old Daisy Mason disappeared from her parents' summer party. No one in the quiet suburban street saw anything - or at least that's what they're saying. DI Adam Fawley is trying to keep an open mind. But he knows that nine times out of ten, it's someone the victim knew. That means someone is lying. And that Daisy's time is running out...

This book was so engaging it hooks you from the first page right through to the end. Nothing is quite how it first appears. The only thing is certain is that daisy is missing. This book is one you certainly won't want to put down
