I was so surprised and overjoyed to see Josė Saramago's novel Blindness included in this fun little coffee table book. I'm part Portuguese and this book was one of few I could find from Portuguese authors when I began explore more about my cultural heritage. It should be more well known!

That‘s it for me. Overall, I‘m pleased with the six hours I got in, and I‘ll definitely try for more next time around. Most of all, I loved interacting with fellow readers here all weekend. Now off to bed! #24in48

Final book deets for #deweysreadathon: some comics, some ghost stories, and a non sequitur. 😆 I had to do a lot of audio in the middle of the day because of tasks I had to complete, which slowed down my reading, and is why I have the little hen book in there--I needed another short audio stat so I didn't waste any time! So that puts my page number total at 1108 pages. All in all, a fun way to pad my GR total with tiny books! 😂😂😂😂

I fell asleep with the timer running, but I think I managed around eight hours this #readathon. I read two graphic novels, one and a half audiobooks, and half a novel. My goal of twelve hours of reading continues to elude me. 🤔

@DeweysReadathon

Cinfhen Good job! Any time set aside for reading is a win 😃 6y
CoffeeCatsBooks Nice! 🎈🎉 6y
Ashley_Nicoletto Good job! It's so hard to read for that long. 6y

Can't concentrate. I don't know if these books popped in my head to read because I can identify with their premise or to let me realize things can be A LOT WORSE. I'm not suicidal, just fed up. I am not good with dealing with feelings of anger or confusion. In this world I am feeling a lot of both right now. I really need to journal or actually protest, join a March or something. The passivity that my mom taught me- just ain't workin today 🤷🏽‍♀️

Mimi28 50 apocalyptic situations have to be worse than Trump and inequality of women? RIGHT?! Sorry I just am sick of repressing and waiting out everything. Life sucks now! And I am feeling it now. Maybe I need divine intervention. Probably. Lol, sorry 7y
Megabooks I understand! Journaling can definitely help. Sometimes I just stand in the shower with classical music on and think, but that's probably TMI! 😂😂 I'm not a big doer, unfortunately. 7y
Mimi28 @Booksandcooks Thanks ❤️Journaling and showers help me also. Don't worry I share TMI on here all the time. I cancelled Facebook because of it but this isn't the proper platform either. I'm just sick of feeling so out of control of my surroundings. I drift into this fantasy world and then reality hits hard and I just want to hide under my covers all day- and actually do practically some days. Getting to my therapist is difficult because of anxiety 7y
Alfoster Hope things get better for you! It sucks to feel that way. Good thing nice people on Litsy are always here for you👊! 7y
Mimi28 @Alfoster Thanks ❤️ I've got to stop venting on here and journal a lot more. You guys are awesome! ❤️ 7y
