Love Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood series and I hope to get to this series at some point.

I stuck this out because I really like the author's Black Dagger series and I kept hoping the book would get better as it progressed, but it was too "Pretty Woman" for me and that movie pisses me off. The book was more gender stereotype romance than supernatural elements and it takes forever to get into the fight.

pickI've been a fan of Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood for years and been meaning to give this series a go. With fan theories for the next BDB book having connectings to this series (they are set in the same universe #ExtendedUniversesForTheWin woooo), I decided now was the best time to read it. Off to a good start so far and already started book 2 😁
Any use for these at the book store? I have no use/interest in them unfortunately.

These are just the physical books I recently purchased, except for Covet, which I've had for years and just never read.
so-soThis book had many issues for me, least of which was the side eye for a main character's "YOLO." There is a very interesting premise buried under the jagged flaps of meat called plot. The main guy is a bit too exceptional for the role - ex machina style - for me BUT once the story gets rolling around Chapter 30, plot prevails. It could have been several chapters and one storyline shorter. Debating if I'm going to continue on in the series.
?The main character just "YOLO'd"...???? So.Much.Side.Eye. Uhh
After a slow start, the meat and potatoes of this plot are starting to form and I'm getting hooked - too bad pesky adult things such as work get in the way!
Any one else do this too? Lol
bailedYikes, I can't imagine finishing this one, much less reading a whole series. So my string of failures continues...I'm never gonna hit my reading goals this year.
Time for some fluff. After bailing on A Conjuring of Light, I need to have zero expectations.
pickThis book was definitely different from the other novels I have read by Ward. It was a pleasant and refreshing surprise. I loved it. A lot of action; just enough "romance" and the ending left me wanting more. I am going to start the next book this weekend sometime. #goodreads #jrward #fallenangels #swoon

Very different tone from her Black Dagger Brotherhood series, but very good. Kinda has a film noir quality about it.
