Artemis: Wild Goddess of the Hunt
Artemis: Wild Goddess of the Hunt | George O'Connor
10 posts | 6 read | 9 to read
Shunned even before she was born and destined to live a life of solitude, Artemis, Goddess of the Hunt, finds power through her skilled hunting ability and mighty bow. She slays those who wish to do harm to the innocent and takes care of the young and helpless. She protects women and young girls, helps in childbirth, soothes, and is unrivaled in her hunting abilities. In the latest volume of Olympians, New York Times-bestselling author George O'Connor continues to turn his extensive knowledge of the original Greek myths into rip-roaring graphic novel storytelling.

I‘ve always loved mythology, and Artemis was my favorite goddess when I was a kid. It‘s interesting to read the stories in graphic novel form. Nice artwork too. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Book 4 for @DeweysReadathon #Deweys24HrReadathon #DeweyOct

I liked this better than Poseidon. Being a physical copy helped. I think the electronic format doesn't lend itself very well when there are multiple stories involved.

Another winner in the Olympians series. Should have come before Apollo, I think, but I get why it didn‘t.

Fourth finish for #SummersEndReadathon #24B4Monday and closing in on 12 hours!

Yay new comics! I technically didn't buy these myself, so I don't feel bad about it. Coyotes is a new comic, so we'll see if it's good.

BekahB I really like the cover art on Coyotes! I love Image comics so I‘ll have to look for that one. 6y
Ashley_Nicoletto Oooo keep us updated. I love image and am always looking for new comics. 6y
Sace Oooo. Coyotes looks good. 6y

Eyelit Coyotes looks really interesting 6y
CatLass007 Is ARTEMIS a graphic novel? 6y
readordierachel @CatLass007 Yeah, sort of. It seems like a shortish story based on the Artemis myth. It's YA from what I can tell. 6y
CatLass007 I have a friend who named her RV “Arte” — this might make a good gift. 6y
readordierachel @BekahB @Ashley_Nicoletto @RestlessFickleBookSlut @Eyelit The art was quite good, but jury's out on the story. Time will tell! 6y

The best thing about this retelling of the Greek myths is the shifting perspectives. We hear from mom Leto, brother Apollo, Hera, and a host of other characters, including Artemis herself. A good intro to the myths. #24in48

mrsmarch @Schlinkles -- I should read this one for my first graphic novel, right!? 😁 7y
Schlinkles @mrsmarch Actually that's a really great series, go for it! 7y

I haven't read all the Olympians books so maybe this is covered elsewhere, but I have to think that Artemis, Orion, and many of the other Youngs would all be happier if their garments were a few inches longer. One cold breeze could really throw off your aim.
