Good is Wicked and Wicked is Good in the New York Times bestselling Dorothy Must Die series! This digital original novella is the ninth and final installment in the series prequel arc. It reveals the mysterious backstory of Ozmaand how she went from fairy princess to the rightful ruler of Oz. Young Mombi was never the best witch in Oz. She wasnt the most talented, or the most powerful. But when the Wizard knocks on her door holding a baby girl who needs protection, Mombi agrees to take the job. She casts one powerful, surprising spellhiding the baby where no one would find her. Years later, a boy named Pete goes on a journey to the Emerald City, where he learns the truth about his true identityand his role in Ozs destiny. Danielle Paige delivers a dark and compelling reimagining of L. Frank Baums The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, perfect for fans of Cinder by Marissa Meyer, Beastly by Alex Flinn, and Wicked by Gregory Maguire, and follows some of literatures most beloved characters as their lives intertwine to bring about the downfall of Oz.

4/5 for the last novella in this series! I‘m so glad I read this. It answered a question that I never really got the answer to while reading the series. Pete was such an enigma in the story. We also learned more about Mombi in this one. If you loved this series, I recommend reading all of the novellas.

Reading this short Ozma/Pete prequel really reminded me of the new show Emerald City (hence the picture). I love all things Oz related and I can't wait to see what lies ahead when tackle the End of Oz next.

This is the last of the Dorothy Must Die prequels and I'm sad to say the least! 😭I absolutely love this series, especially the novellas. In the last installment, we get more backstory on Pete/Ozma and how Ozma was entrusted into Mombi's care as a child. For her protection, Mombi transforms Ozma into Pete. Most of this story is about Pete, which was a little disappointing, but overall, this is a solid end to the series. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️#Oz

MrBook Nice review! 7y
JenlovesJT47 @MrBook thanks! ☺️ 7y
TobeyTheScavengerMonk I'm rereading Baum's Oz books and I'm interested in these but still a little wary. Any reason given why Ozma as a boy is called Pete instead of Tip? 7y
JenlovesJT47 @TobeyTheScavengerMonk I'm not sure. I've only read the first original Oz book, but these are a complete reimagining. The "good" ones here are bad and vice versa. I love this series! 7y
