Vampire Henry Sturges returns in the highly anticipated sequel to Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter-a sweeping, alternate history of twentieth-century America by New York Times bestselling author Seth Grahame-Smith. THE LAST AMERICAN VAMPIRE In Reconstruction-era America, vampire Henry Sturges is searching for renewed purpose in the wake of his friend Abraham Lincoln's shocking death. Henry's will be an expansive journey that first sends him to England for an unexpected encounter with Jack the Ripper, then to New York City for the birth of a new American century, the dawn of the electric era of Tesla and Edison, and the blazing disaster of the 1937 Hindenburg crash. Along the way, Henry goes on the road in a Kerouac-influenced trip as Seth Grahame-Smith ingeniously weaves vampire history through Russia's October Revolution, the First and Second World Wars, and the JFK assassination. Expansive in scope and serious in execution, THE LAST AMERICAN VAMPIRE is sure to appeal to the passionate readers who made Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter a runaway success.

Enjoyed but the first book was better. It ended as if it had more to come. It has some elements of Interview with a vampire if you are familiar with Anne Rice work. It was a good read if you like vampire story.

#bookhaul from the Dollar Tree!!

Jess7 Such good scores I keep seeing from the dollar tree, thrift stores, and Salvation Army.. “makes mental note to stop by local dollar tree on the way home from work today..” 🤣🤷🏻‍♀️🤗 6y

Finished this whole book while I was in the hospital🏥. This picture is so badly photoshopped. The light on Bram's face is such a dead give away. Also in case you are wondering I feel better and I am home now.

TrishB Glad you‘re on the mend 😁 6y

I got this book in my last #libraryhaul because I liked the cover. I couldn't really get in to the book, maybe because I didn't read the first one? I think the plot could have been more complex. Sometimes it felt like a long narration of things they saw. However, if you are looking for an easy read, and you have read the first one, I would definitely recommend it. There's a lot of cool pictures too! #popsugar2018

I‘m about two minutes into THE LAST AMERICAN VAMPIRE and I already like the narrator for this sequel better than the one for its predecessor, ABRAHAM LINCOLN, VAMPIRE HUNTER.

CaroPi I actually ended up liking more this book than the first one. 6y
CatLass007 @CaroPi I‘ve heard that from other people too. I think I‘m gonna like this one better myself. 6y

This story reminded me of a combination of Interview With a Vampire and Forest Gump. We hear about Henry's life and all the things in history he was a part of. There were some parts that I found kind of boring but overall enjoyed the story. I believe Abe Lincoln Vampire Hunter was better, but this was still a good story.

Here it is! My book haul from Oklahoma. I don't think a #bookhaul has ever so accurately portrayed my eclectic reading tastes. I was so excited about my first graphic novel, The Gunslinger Born. I almost peed myself when I found the hard copy of Misery. Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn are also hardcovers and are illustrated! I found them at a swap mart for $1.50 each! My luggage was much heavier on the way home, but so worth it.

Hestapleton I found a hard copy of MISERY at my library book sale and grabbed it before anyone could touch. It was my first (and favorite King) and the hard copy is lovely. 7y
Josie @Hehaney they are not common! At least, not in great condition. It was the only one and the first thing I saw. I had to have it. It was only $6 7y

I can't hide my excitement about this book! How cool can be a Book that talks about Bram Stoker and Sr. Arthur Conan Doyle? In theory second parts are not as good as the first... But in this case it seems even better!!!
