This was an interesting book because it wasn‘t very long but it took me a while get through because I was hanging on every word. I admittedly didn‘t know much about this book prior to reading it so I was unprepared for the emotional rollercoaster I was about to embark on. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Somewhere down the line, it got hard to just be kind, and I don‘t know why, and I don‘t know when, and when I see all of the reasons to be back in love with her again, I want more than anything to be swept up in the tide of before

At the beginning of January, I randomly chose 24 books that I need to read this year from my #TBR. Then #TBRBingo came around and I jumped on that ship real fast. Just had my first DNF from that list - just couldn‘t take more of the protagonist trying to justify his affair.

Day 19 #boughtonvacation #feistyfeb I don't usually buy books while away on vacation (I usually bring them with me). I also don't tend to go too far either. This one I bought while on staycation at the BF's house.

Short, quick read about a British artist married to a French woman and the aftermath of his affair. Kept my attention. Interesting to compare to Life Drawing by Robin Black, about a woman artist who has an affair (Black's book is weightier and better-written; this book has a certain charm and hopefulness.)

What I am saying is that even though it seems like the hardest bridge to cross, you have to cross it. Otherwise, you're just friends.

Loved this. Funny and smart which is my favorite kind of book. Richard is kind of (ok very much) an asshole but you end up rooting for him anyway.

Almost half way through and still not feeling this one. Trying to get through my lengthy TBR list but the latest hot new reads keep distracting me.

Richard, an English artist living in Paris, has just ended an affair with an American. Too bad his wife figured it out anyway. Can he figure out a way to win his wife back and find inspiration for a new installation project?

Although I liked the ending, I can't say the reading was "so much fun". The setting - Paris and parts of suburban London - was enjoyable.

#tbr Tuesday - the latest book stack, mostly books from my local library. I love the library! I love walking around the stacks and I love checking out way more than I need. I love that it's free and that everyone can borrow a book to read. (I do cheat on my library though - I go to three local libraries!) #tbrtuesday

Blair_Reads I go to 2 libraries 😜 The library is my happy place. More than a store bc I know I can afford all the books I want in a library lol 8y
MrBook Love my libraries 😊. Nice stack! 8y
jessberk13 I am just now starting to explore my library system after moving last summer. I am so excited to check out more in the system besides the one in my neighborhood! 8y

Filled with enough terrific insights on marriage to slow the counseling business, this novel, set loosely against the backdrop of the Iraq war, is about a man trying to rebuild his life after an affair. It's also about art and family and culture. It's about the lies we tell each other and ourselves in marriages. A bunch of stars for this one. Sixish books and 15 hours into #24in48.

Whoever said that reading (fill in low number) of hours in 48 is better than #nohoursin48 is my new best friend, even though I can't remember their name (can you be best friends with a nameless person? Clearly I can). At 11h 15m, after staying up until one and getting up at six to avoid visiting family, I'm taking a nap! Goodbye to another hour of reading this good one. #24in48

A book about infidelity, a man's guilt (or lack there of), and misguided attempts to win his wife back is not the usual for me. But the authors writing style, and conflicted main character have intrigued me enough to give this a go.
