Mandalas to Crochet
Mandalas to Crochet: 30 Great Patterns | Haafner Linssen
2 posts | 1 read
Crocheted mandalas are having a moment! And it's no wonder the lovely mandala is in vogue: one evening is often enough to begin and finish something eye-catching. Many crocheters make mandalas as a meditative activity, while others love them simply for the wonderful opportunities they offer for mixing colors and stitch textures. A new take on traditional shapes, like granny squares or hexagons, these attractive crocheted circles are causing a real buzz in the crochet community. Included are complete written and charted directions for a variety of types of circular designs, plus a range of creative techniques and ideas to make yours stand out from the crowd. With full patterns and inspiring photos, a review of crochet techniques, a discussion of materials, colors, finishing techniques, and lots of project ideas including bags, shawls, blankets, and pillows, this book guarantees many hours of happy mandala-making.

I've finished eight parts of the Mandala Madness CAL blanket! A few tricky bits but manageable and still fun.

DreesReads I am making myself finish one of last year‘s CALs that I started before doing this or a Sophie or Sophie Loves Lilia Bjorn. Making...myself. I have no more space for yarn!!! 6y
Lauredhel @AudreyMorris tell me about your CALs! I'm glad I did Sophie before tackling this - the photo guides were better quality and the hints held my hand a little more. 6y
DreesReads I am over halfway through a jewel colorway Hygge shawl, and I have 6 (?) squares done on Nuts About Squares. I had to put them both down when it got hot last summer (we don‘t have a/c), and I can‘t seem to get going again! 6y
Soubhiville Wow that‘s gorgeous 6y

Autumnscribe Amazing!!!! I just learnt how to crochet recently; now I know what I wish to aspire too. 6y
Lauredhel @Autumnscribe I learned last year and love it. I recommend Sophie's Universe as a first "ambitious" project, though this is fun too. 6y

One of the reasons I love the library is the availability of craft books. The mandala shown was a pattern from the internet but it lead me to the library to look for more patterns. I haven't made anything out of the book yet but there are some beautiful patterns in there!

BookishMarginalia So pretty! 7y
Moonpa @BookishMarginalia thank you! I really enjoyed making it. 7y
