Bookworm54 I read the side book, and it was pretty good! I was planning to read both, but after some unfavourable reviews I decided to just stick with undead redhead! And I wouldn‘t want to be a zombie. Most books describe them as smelling like rotten flesh and they seem to also degrade properly if they don‘t eat brains (or apparently rotten veg) so even sentient zombie I don‘t think would be my thing 🤣 3y

Bookworm54 Would depend on the kind of zombie. Liv I definitely would want to befriend 🤣 I haven‘t read many zombie books… where the zombies are characters my favourite so far was white trash zombie. Zombies are in it, probably Feed :) 3y

Mrs_B I agree with @Bookworm54 that it depends on the type of zombie! 🧟‍♀️ Struggling a bit with the “married with zombies” book this month, it just reads a bit like a bad horror movie. How is everyone else getting on? 3y

AsYouWish @ElizaMarie I mean I dreamed of being Robin Wright in the Princess Bride!! (Fun fact - I have never actually seen Forest Gump… I know, I know a lot of my guy friends in college tried to get me to watch it, but I never made it through.) 3y

Yuki_Onna @Soytoosaucy favorite horror movie with zombification: Serpent and the Rainbow by Wes Craven. It's about living zombies and awesome. 🌟
fav. horror books: the Ring series and Dark Water by Koji Suzuki. dark, quiet,creeping terror... ✔ 4y

Yuki_Onna @Soytoosaucy Ah, and if you love undead creatures, I highly recommend a recent release: The Undead by Johan Egerkrans. It's a beautifully illustrated encyclopaedia of undead creatures around the world. You can surely get it online somewhere. It's more about vampiric beings, (which draw on blood or life force), I'm afraid, but there are a few kinds of zombies included)... 👌 4y

I also watched the movie called Dark Water not sure if it‘s the same story line as the book. Thanks for the recommendations going to look for The Undead now, I‘m intrigued😁 4y

Yuki_Onna @Soytoosaucy I just got the German edition of The Undead for my birthday and love it! 💕Just the kind of bestiary I enjoy. But I just discovered that Johan Egerkrans's illustrated books are ridiculously expensive in English... 😱 I wonder why??? It's much cheaper in German (although Egerkrans is Swedish...). I'll keep an eye on the English edition. I'll let you know if I find it somewhere less expensive, ok?

Yuki_Onna @Soytoosaucy I like the quiet terror of The Ring books. Hopefully you won't find them boring. Of course the films are more drastic and have jumpscares which the books can't deliver. But every so often I found the hair at the back of my neck stand while I was reading, and I like when a book does that...

Soytoosaucy @Yuki_Onna yes I looked it up online and it‘s definitely expensive! Lol but thank you for keeping a loook out! As for The Ring series I don‘t mind it not having the jump scares that‘s actually a little better to me 🤣 so I think I‘ll give that a go. And that‘s pretty cool about Dark Water. The film wasn‘t bad so I‘d like to read more about the other stories. 4y
