Christmas Under the Stars
Christmas Under the Stars | Karen Swan
6 posts | 8 read | 3 to read
A gripping, festive novel, Christmas Under the Stars by Karen Swan reveals the devastating power of secrets. In the snow-topped mountains of the Canadian Rockies, Meg and Mitch are living their dream. Just weeks away from their wedding, they work and play with Tuck and Lucy, their closest and oldest friends. Meg and Lucy are as close as sisters - much to Meg's sister's dismay - and Tuck and Mitch have successfully turned their passion for snowboarding into a booming business. But when a polar storm hits, tragedy strikes. Alone in the tiny mountain log cabin she shares with Mitch, Meg desperately tries to radio for help - and it comes from the most unexpected quarter, a lone voice across the airwaves that sees what she cannot. As the snow melts and they try to live with their loss, the friendship Meg thought was forever is buckled by tensions, rivalries and devastating secrets. Nothing is as she thought and only her radio contact understands what it is to be truly alone. As they share confidences in the dark, witnessed only by the stars, Meg feels her future begin to pull away from her past and is forced to consider a strange truth - is it her friends who are the strangers? And a stranger who really knows her best?

This one was ok. Not my favorite, but not bad. Got 9 bingos with it! Closing in on a few blackouts.

The story took a while to really get going for me and I struggled at first to get into it. However once I was in it was a journey through all the emotions.

When #Kindle is costlier than #Paperback.....Very Wrong.
Thoughts please?!?!

JonathanDunne 👎 or maybe the paperback is priced incredibly cheap? It is cheap. But I don't agree with the concept/idea. 7y
NerdyRev Drives me crazy at times. Ebooks need no printing costs or delivery costs, even more than $9.99 ebooks are annoying. Authors need to be paid, but things like this drive me crazy. 7y
readinginthedark Was the paperback a used copy? Don't even get me started on prices of stuff. After working in a small bookstore, I think prices should be even and people could just choose where they prefer to shop. 7y

Theresa I've found that a few times recently too. As a result I've bought a lot more physical books than ebooks over the past several months. 7y
RinaBrahmbhattBarot @JonathanDunne I can only guess but they might have too many paperback copies, and they need to shift them. It was Qb.85 in store/online 7y
RinaBrahmbhattBarot @NerdyRev in the end I didn't buy any.... :) 7y
RinaBrahmbhattBarot @readinginthedark hey! It was brand new copy. I agree. May be if store provided extra service or they ship the book faster, they can charge extra 7y
RinaBrahmbhattBarot @Theresa I didn't get any of this book, but yes I always get whatever is cheaper :) 7y
JonathanDunne @MyBookSwapClub for every 10 ebooks I sell 1 paperback only because my only because my ebooks are cheaper but paperback with always rule for me 7y
